That is way over priced being PDK. At the height of the market I sold my 32k mile manual car through RPM, sold in a couple of weeks for £80k. The red doesn't offend, but I would have gone with a black steering wheel.

Alcantara/Leather Dash/Sports Chrono/Bose are the things people want. Mine had those plus 18 way seats, factory Short Shift and a few other bits. What was I thinking !

not to derail the thread off the subject of GTS, but they are getting close to parity with preemo condition 997 Turbo prices.

I see that Porsche 997.2 Turbo also has such red interior... and ow automatic...

Agree on the comments on the murdered interior. I bought an s2000 with a similar theme 15 years ago to save a few quid and to be fair I did grow immune to it after a few weeks when I was in the car but walking up to it seeing the dash was never fun!!
Well, i certainly won’t be in the market for a low miler and may lean to PDK. Anyone had any issues with the box?
Thoughts on the high miler at Cridfords? Seems to have good history of high miles.
Does £50k represent value at this point or not?!

Seems fair. No doubt a manual is preferable but I personally decided I'd rather have a PDK 4 GTS than a manual 4S and have't regretted it. The PDK isn't perfect by any stretch, but bearing in mind I'm in London it makes sense and you can still have fun in manual mode. My main concern is that it will likely at least start life as my daily which would mean 18-24 months later 100k+ miles on the clock which would be unchartered territory at that point…Did wonder about a cab too - this one could be promising:

The reason the manual is now more sought-after is, in part, because the PDK was so good when it came out and the majority of cars were PDK. Some people bought manuals just to save money, when they really wanted a PDK.
Yes, the manual has an enduring appeal and hasn't dated (which the PDK always would), but the 997 PDK was and remains very good. It's not a slush box.

Absolutely zero people did that when purchasing a GTS brand new in the midst of the global financial crisis. So they needed examples of different seats, drive trains, wheels and brakes etc.
My local OPC had a lovely grey one that sat for months with a huge discount on it (it was for sale at £60k and change) and if I remember correctly (as I was going to order a Spyder) I think they only sold one Spyder as a customer order, the rest were bought in (and in my locals case pretty crap spec).

Note I have had a few pdk cars and not that bothered about manually shifting anyway if the car can make a half good job of it!

The PDK in the 997 was the best thing out there when it was launched. However 15 years on it no longer is with transmissions in much more mundane cars being its equal or better. 997's are now mostly not people's daily driver and on a Sunday morning going for a blast in your sports car you want to be driving a car with a gearbox that is engaging and not inferior to your daily. eg If you daily a Macan the PDK in that will be better than that in a 997.The reason the manual is now more sought-after is, in part, because the PDK was so good when it came out and the majority of cars were PDK. One of the reasons the manual gearbox and the 997 GTS provide such great bedfellows is that power kit engine has a top end which genuinely rewards going to maximum revs and who doesn't love timing a gear change properly when you're taking the engine to the red line....not something that can be said of the Carrera/S engines.
