What is this business of "rotating the car"
Basically the 'modern' way of driving a car quickly is to try to return the wheel straight asap to get on full power. You try to get the car turned and pointing the right way and would be prepared to sacrifice some apex speed in order to do so. Melvynr said:

Ah! 991 GT3 platform is perfectly capable of being 'rotated' though.

There's a bit too much focus on the terminology perhaps. Driving at the edge of grip especially on corner entry is supposed to be tricky after all!

The car spins at a spot where there is no opportunity for using a double apex/rotation...
Correct. Just after Schwedenkreuz, on the way into Aremburg. For the benefit of those who've never been (I know Dr S knows it) it's a frightening section, with the crest at Schwedenkreuz being one of the faster sections of track and this left hand corner following it also has a crest on the way in. When I was being taught the circuit, I was told NEVER to lft there. I always try to have a quick brake before the crest and always have a little, balancing throttle.
That is not the place to start fking about with rotation. Well, not for me anyway.
The common accident there, and what we may be looking at in those pictures, is a faster car catching someone and having nowhere to go. It happens.

Rotation works well when the car is set up perfectly and in the correct place, ignore the scare monger.
A little test on your car is useful in a safe place for track use,get the car in the corner and set some understeer, then a small lift to see if the car Is stable and tucks in tighter or Unstable and wants to bite you in your ass.
Most dont explore the limits Until its to late,no learning of what goes on,pec gives a very small part of the understanding, very often the driver is not ready to react and does not Know there own car in what ever situation.
Drive these cars with it all turned off and learn by building up the of skills at a sensible pace in sensible conditions, these latest cars have amazing amounts of grip to enjoy.

I would say he just lifted on the crest and the back end went light. For the benefit of those who've never been (I know Dr S knows it) it's a frightening section, with the crest at Schwedenkreuz being one of the faster sections of track and this left hand corner following it also has a crest on the way in. I spun my Lotus within the 1st few weeks of getting it on a hump and lift off and smashed the car into the curb.

^^ This.
And as for posting the picture of the RS, imagine how you'd feel if that was your car Dave. Thoughtless at the very least.
