A weekend trip to the Yorkshire Dales means we’ve hit 1200 miles in 6 weeks.

Can highly recommend www.wensleydaleheifer.co.uk

Hello mate. I see you had a GT4 before your T. I nearly went for a GT4, but went for the T in the end (newer design plus GT4 too much like my 981 inside - fancied a change!).

What are your thoughts comparing the two?

My two penneth as I traded my 718GT4 after 13,000 miles for a T.

GT4 Pros
That screaming engine - more fun running to the redline than the T
More direct, faster steering
Rear boot
Feels slightly faster

T Pros
Overall, feels a much more refined/sophisticated/expensive product - simple things like the switchgear feels more premium, the electric windows are silent etc.
Bose is 10x better in the T compared to the GT4
Softer ride - but not by as much as you’d think
Interior design (inc PCM) feels several generations newer

I have no regrets changing to the T. In almost every respect I prefer it to the GT4.

If you only want a trackday/Sunday afternoon/100% on it car, the GT4 is probably the winner. For all other times the T would be the winner for me.

The only thing I would change is the engine - it still feels weird that the engine runs out of puff as the revs rise, rather than piling on the performance like the GT4. Maybe I need to start saving for a GTS. Don’t tell the wife. whistle

But surely that is just the downside of going FI rather than NA?

The GTS wouldn't be any better in that regard. Enjoy the T for now and wait for the NA 992.2 GTS maybe?

Had two new GT4s, both bucket seat and second one was full club sport, both manual box. Liked them quite a bit, as many have said though, the gearing in the manual was pants for the road. Meant you were having to change down to much lower gears than you’d maybe normally use for over takes. Love the T, it’s got just about the right amount of power for the road - more than the stated 380 odd BHP I suspect! Love the turbo engine and torque every where in the rev range. Interior and tech in T is much better in all regards. Lucky enough to also own a Lotus Exige 410 sport. Interestingly, when I had the GT4, I used to pick the Exige over it, however it’s the other way round with the T.

An Akrapovic slip on rear box and a Litchfield remap soon sorts out the running out of puff bit. Don’t ask me how, but you’d better be awake if you put your foot down as the red line approaches rapidly!

Mmm, I had one on order before I got my T, which was a stopgap till the GTS landed. Test drove the GTS and decided to just keep the T, as for me the GTS wasn’t worth the premium.

One thing I have learned with Porsches - ‘less is often more’.
Had 911s since the late 80s, and in recent years went from a 991.1 C4 GTS PDK to a 991.2 GT3 Touring to a base 991.2 Manual, and never been happier.

Most likely. Or I’m just craving a few more horses.

We sound similar.. started in early 90’s, had some wonderful 911’s, posted in another thread the ones I had, but now have a Manual 991 T and couldn’t be happier as my only 911..

Thank you Neil. That was pretty much what i thought. My manual T is my only car. As soon as I picked it up, I knew I'd made the right choice. I do miss my 981C 2.7 engine noise and rear boot.....but the T is a much more mature car. And I simply adore the look of the thing!

Cheers. I am still running my T in, but certainly feel the torque which was completely lacking in my long geared 981!

Nice car just popped up with Ashgood. The right spec for me and tempted by the tune and exhaust. But torn between 991 T and a 992 CS for the same price!

That car recently sold for substantially less on Collecting Cars Auction.
