GT meet up - Getting idea for interest and numbers

Yes fair point - just watched the news at 22.00 - by god it’s scary - never seen anything like this
Yep, it’s scary what the media spouts.A Winter flu epidemic in the UK kills vast numbers (think tens of thousands) every year.
The press then report the NHS as stretched to capacity/failing us, but they make no mention of the 150 + people dying every day from complications brought on by “ordinary” flu, such as pneumonia etc.
So far 30 people have died due to the virus (or complications brought on by it) in the UK.
If we were two weeks into a Winter flu epidemic, we’d have now lost closer to 2400 lives already ...
Don’t get me wrong, it’s serious, but the media are doing an excellent job of over-hyping the current situation.

My son and I agreed after today that gold wheels can only add to a car’s awesomeness :-)
Great to see you again Digga, and to meet D.No and Singh911. Also good to see quite a few other GT3s equipped with child seats!
Child seats also add to the awesomeness in my opinion!Great to see you again Digga, and to meet D.No and Singh911. Also good to see quite a few other GT3s equipped with child seats!
I don't have kids of my own, but it heartens me to see the younger generations are still interested in the primitively art of internal combustion. Good work.

What a good meet, despite the Old Testament-level rain en route. Really good to put some faces and names to forum IDs, and to discover a strong correlation between Porsche obsessives and mountain biking :-)
I hope everyone had a safe drive back, especially the 996 GT2 and 997 RS I followed briefly on the M40 south in truly awful conditions. I was glad the 991s electronic safety net made the heady speed of 65mph safely attainable :-s
That was myself and KAL, good to have you behind for a while making sure we were ok (till you got bored of the superslow speed! I had half worn Cup2s on and was desperately hunting for no standing water during the 2 hour drive back!I hope everyone had a safe drive back, especially the 996 GT2 and 997 RS I followed briefly on the M40 south in truly awful conditions. I still owe you, although in this instance, your coffee would have ended up on the 'round' that Singh911 generously (and very stealthily) paid for. Next time.Nurburgsingh said:
So..
1. How long do we think we need to leave it before we have another meet up?
2. Do we extend the invite to the regular Pork ?
3. Are sundays better than Saturdays for people?
4. As the days get longer would some of the more local pistonheaders be up for an after work meet up?
1. How frequently could people attend?1. How long do we think we need to leave it before we have another meet up?
2. Do we extend the invite to the regular Pork ?
3. Are sundays better than Saturdays for people?
4. As the days get longer would some of the more local pistonheaders be up for an after work meet up?
2. I see no reason why not.
3. Can do either.
4. A bit of a stretch for me.
All above Covid dependent!

4. Yes (7pm onwards)
5. Venue?
Turnout was excellent yesterday, but imagine what less inclement weather, and hysteria levels at something other than defcon 9 would muster..especially if the invitation is widened.
Look forward to catching-up next weekend, as I somehow managed to miss you yesterday.

Not the best photo, but to D.no for creating the commemorative stickers. now in pride of place. Top job!
Great to see it where it belongs.
The idea was to leave these under the wiper-blades of people's cars, but they would have likely turned to mush in the deluge.
I handed a few out, but missed most people (apol's), and as a consequence I've got loads left. Been leaving them on the inside of coffee shop windows all over Warwickshire

Not too late to join us again next week....
With so many other events being cancelled now we are thinking a trip back up to the Cotswolds again next weekend sounds very tempting. Rob called Porsche Club HQ to see if the event is a definite or a maybe & was told they will be making a decision on Wednesday. If its a positive one then we will sign up as I understand we need to buy tickets from PCGB online. Nurburgsingh | PTS Green 997.2RS | Confirmed | Confirmed |

We saw that 997 leaving as we were arriving. Utterly stunning! To whom does it belong? What colour is it? Midnight Blue? Atlas? Really want some BBS now.....

The 997.1 on E88's is mine Thanks for the kind words! It's Atlas Grey
Saw you on the way in - I was going in the long way on a little loop as I thought I was a bit early.Atlas grey is a superb colour - looks so different on different cars and in different light conditions.

christ knows what the summer will be like.
I'm reliably informed the rain will be warmer.Plus, hopefully, with Covid protocol out of the way, you'll be able to kick people square in the shins when they're accidentally insulting someone's car to their face too.

We would love one of these if it can be arranged! Fingers crossed that we might yet see some of you lot again next weekend so maybe then ... (BTW don't wish to offend anyone but is there a reason that it says 23rd not 22nd? )
