Same dampers, different settings, I've read that in multiple places, so it just needs a software flash to be developed then you can get 90% of the ST from a Touring for 1/3 the price.
I beg to differ.. the car drives totally different to a Touring, like night and day..I have test road routes that i use to compare ride compliancy in any Porsche i buy, and the ST rode better than all 911's, makes a change from getting thrown around in the LWB !
The rebound is sublime, spring rates surly must be different? not quite sure how they got it to ride with (and i quote) Software update!
But then when i recall, i compared my 992 Winged GT3 against my 992 Touring, the gap was again, broad in road compliancy on the same route

The change of tyre will be night and day if more compliant, having heard all the nightmare stories from the journo,s who spend a couple of hours in a car of the gt3,i am pleasantly surprised how compliant the gt3cs is on mich cups and the st will probably be even better on the new Pirelli.
Any way enjoy it and use as intended.

add to the feeling of fluidity, but again those are available off the shelf for a Touring.
Evo confirmed this;

Your winged vs Touring dampers and springs are identical by the way.

It's amazing what a set of decent dampers can do ...
There's no doubt that the ST particularly with heritage pack looks a very nice place to be. Enjoy.
I think I remember reading somewhere that the only changes over the Touring set up were in the chassis software - as opposed to different dampers..?There's no doubt that the ST particularly with heritage pack looks a very nice place to be. Enjoy.

I would have thought It will only be a fine tune of the dampers, after all they have to matched with in the spec of the springs.
I would not want the current gt3 any more compliant, compared to some of the other cars i have owned,it feels like a very wide luxury ride on the road.
Maybe owners /journos are trying to justify Mr P sales bs as the best 911 yet lol.

Ones does tend to see that a lot where part numbers are identical but there's supposedly night and day differences....The difficulty though would be getting a touring in exactly the same spec/setup as a ST to make that 'real' comparison I suppose. Corsa tyres were already highlighted as a difference but the Corsa I believe is actually slightly heavier than a Cup2 albeit probably with a softer sidewall and presumably lighter wheels on the ST as well so ideally one would want to have that identical if trying to compare the 2.
Would be interesting to plug the PASM control unit into something that spits out the differences in what the damping changes actually are if the difference really is in those changes (as compared to say setup/geometry etc differences).

Damper differences between the ST and GT3 are great in theory but in reality no one will be driving the ST anyway so as long as the dampers are good enough to support the cars when they parked up in the garage then all is great
It also helps the balance getting on and off the trailer at car shows I’m just back from a blast in my new 992 Touring and am baffled at the reviews complaining about the ride quality. It’s far more compliant than the dsc controller fitted 991.2 it replaced.
I was prepared for the worst and had looked into the suspension secrets soft spring kit but there’s absolutely no need.
Mines a late ‘23 so I wonder if Porsche listened or maybe my geometry is set up right?
Those with ST’s coming are in for a treat!
Health to enjoy.

I’d heard the very late GT3 Tourings seem to have different ride quality. This came from people who had early cars and then got new allocations. Apparently the new cars on cups are a lot better than early cars on Corsas.
I haven’t driven an early car and don’t have enough seat time to comment but I’d be interested to know if people are finding this as well.
