I think on SOR all the risk is with the owner...
The biggest risk would be the seller going bust in between selling your car and paying you the money. As has happened to quite a few PH'rs over the years.

Anyone know how much this was up for?
Seems to have had a deposit taken quite quickly:

This one sold very quickly and the white gen 2 one Tom had went live on the web late evening and had a deposit on it by the following lunchtime when I rang.

Very few gen 2’s around for sale that aren’t left hand drive or £110k.

You are correct.
In the last 90's, when I ran TVRs, they had a 6 month waiting list and year old cars sold for the price of new, even if they were scruffy. Pristine ones were at a slight premium. So a lot of the wealthy city types would buy a new one every year and they'd drop the old car off on SOR when they collected their new one. A lot got burned when Team Central went bust.

Does anyone know who the new owner of my old car is?

It was the GT Silver 997.1 GT3 at Ashgood with 48k on the clock.

I miss her cry

I bought the Black gen 2, i was very lucky being in the right place at the right time.
It’s condition is more like a sub 10k mileage car, 1 owner from new and perfect spec.
As usual Tom at 911v was a pleasure to deal with and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Nice job Kev that looked really nice.

Post inspection there are a few minor bits to sort on mine, I asked for the relevant items picked up to be addressed and they are going further than I asked so I am really really impressed they would do that.

I am now due to get mine mid next week, the wait is ok I would rather have it right... than right now.

I guess you have yours now so enjoy, let me know how you are getting on.

Cheers
Ed

Hi Ed,
No I haven’t collected yet but will let you know how I get on. Post up a report on your car too.
All the best.
Kevin

Almost happened to me, first of all the dealer refused to pay me after the car developed a problem AFTER it was sold and the new owner drove off, and a few months later they stopped trading altogether. They had very good reviews and a swanky showroom with Ferraris and Lamborghinis (I do wonder if those owners got burnt!)

that's why I prefer no SOR. either I price cheap or I hit the dealer bid.

I'm also bidding cheap on dealer cars. I think there's a lot of unrealistically priced cars out there.

I believe the black gen 1 GT3 and white gen 2 GT3 at 911v both belong to Sid at Porsche Torque.

Think the black one may even still be for sale privately via Sid directly if anyone maybe looking for a nice straight gen 1 GT3. Maybe worth call to Sid for those not willing to pay for peace of mind dealer warranty? wink

Sid and the crew at 911V are pretty close so i expect if they are his then the cars are at 911V because he wants them to be there? Who can be arsed with all those tyre kickers these days?!

Most SOR cars are crazy prices as the dealer has nothing to loose as it’s not his money.

You here a lot of story’s about people getting burnt on SOR, there was a dealer in South Wales who lived off other people’s money until in got court!

South Wales is a very small place car wise and he tried to SOR two of my cars I had for sale at the time on PistonHeads, thank fully I wasn’t warned away from him once I asked a few questions.
