Strange that there are no garages;
I got the email at 5:45pm yesterday & by the time I was placing the order (9pm) they had all gone !
Don't recall them going that quickly before ?

David, I think the booking link was out a few days before we got our e-mails from MSV so the garages were probably already booked up.

Just got myself on the PEC Precision Day at Silverstone on 14th November.....hopefully this and a couple of outings I’ve had at Bruntingthorpe will have me ready to do some proper track days next year! Fingers crossed it’s not wet and freezing cold.....
What a shame - I’m there on the 15th frown
Ah that is shame R. Would have been great to put a face to a name! This must be the Spyder day i am guessing ?! Which has got you more excited the RS or Spyder ?!?!
Yes , real shame.

964 RS all day long - however it’s still waiting UK registration so I haven’t got it yet - hoping to get it any day now - really want to use it before any winter salt goes down frown
I am sure the RS will be a keeper....great work finding a car as special as that ! Hopefully we can meet up at a track day next year.
The winter salt has been going down already banghead

You might have had a very good miss Taffy....forecast tomorrow is max temp of 5 deg and 80% chance of heavy rain all day ! Just what Cup 2’s were made for wobble

Still the low grip pad at the PEC will be genuinely low grip so that should be a lot of fun biggrin
Its snowing with us right now and i'm driving 160 miles 6AM tomorrow to Swindon to get my 458 serviced.
I can confirm that Cup 2’s on a wet Silverstone when it’s 4 deg and a relatively new track surface don’t offer much grip. Circuit was shut until lunchtime as they were pumping flood water away. Grip levels were unbelievably low !

Spent a lot of time on the PEC facilities.....which were very quiet as they keep numbers down when they run the Precision Day’s....I know an awful lot more about being uber precise with throttle control and various other things though! Will do another one in the spring...when it’s hopefully dry but definitely warmer.

Forecast is dry tomorrow....there’s a very nice looking Guards Red Spyder waiting for you! My instructor said he loved it, says the new engine is great, But I guess you know that already ! Also said the new Speedster has got a very, very stiff chassis.....reckons it stiffer than the GT3 which apparently in the wet is a very bad trait, one of the instructors spun it doing 19 mph! I doubt any any will ever see the rain though.

I actually had a load of fun on the ice hill and kick plate today....instead of “just” correcting the car on the kick plate to the straight ahead I was trying to catch the car in a drift trying and then do consecutive drifts for the length of the skid pad....took me a ste load of attempts.

I was there in my own car. Pirelli’s were slippy too. Made for great fun!
The Astons on the main circuit seemed rather easy to catch.

What were you driving ?! Most people seemed to rent PEC cars which kind of defeats the purpose....and make it an expensive day. The lack of grip in my car kind of took the fun away on the main circuit ! I’ve used the instructor a few times....he’ll always be pushing to use brakes later.and harder get on power earlier etc He wasn’t yesterday...I could tell as soon as we got on the track he was pretty defensive,

A very light grey 65-plate 991.1 GTS. I did same as you, used a half-day freebie voucher and paid the £200 odd difference. Which was your car?

I found yesterday's session incredibly exciting - came away with buzz. The half-day PEC sessions get a bit Groundhog Day after you've done a few so opted to do the full day to get main track experience in prep for tracking. BTW, in the morning when it looked likely that the main track would not be available due to the weather, I was told that if that was the case, then we'd get a free 2nd day.

I've just got my cars track day insured and am resolved to finally getting involved in PCGB days next year. Can't wait!

Ah yes the Grigio Campovolo (I think) 991.1 GTS....superb looking machine. So much better than Crayon. The instructor I had does some work for Hatfield and recognised your car I also nearly bought a GC 991.2 GTS from OPC Glasgow in 2015 and still regret it. That one had a ducktail on it.

Mine was the Lava Orange 991.2 GT3....what was great about yesterday was how quiet it was so you could really work on technique....we lapped the ice hill with nobody else on it about 15 times at one point. Didn’t know about the free day, that would have been great!

I am going to do it again in the May or June, learnt a lot.

Thanks. Booked. My nephew's coming along to get PAX laps with me, so there's a +1 in my group for dinner if that's okay?

He's 25 but not learned to drive yet. He's passed his theory and reckons he's going to cram an intensive course in the spring...

I've booked two nights at the Alvaney Arms which are brilliant..Very good food and beer..Last year we had a three course meal where i attempted to teach Yellow how to drink..Trouble is you can't teach an old dog new tricks.biggrin
Give them a phone to see if they still have a room..We had a great crowd last year including TDT and Boxsey on here who were top company to be with.

How do you guys get away with the dB readings at Oulton? I was testing some JCR and standard exhausts at Silverstone on Monday and the lowest drive by reading was JCR Silanced Race Pipe and Silenced tips at 94.9dB. Standard was 96.9dB
