what is an 'early' 3.4 996?
Discussion
Love the alcantara!
On the subject of keys, as a turbo owner I can at least post in this thread - one of mine hardly ever works and the other one needs a new battery every month or so ... so rather than spend $$$ fixing it, I just bought a job lot of cell batteries and change as needed!
I believe the circuit board gets cracked and it starts drawing power. I might get my synth tech to have a look at it as he's pretty handy.

Can't help with the electronic frunk release as I've got a cable one.
Does anyone know how to make the indicators louder? I swear this car (or at least my one!) has the quietest indicators of any car ever, and I constantly forget to turn them off when making progress. Doesn't help it's a fairly noisy cabin in the 911 and the tell-tales on the dash aren't that bright either.
Would fitting a new indicator relay make things a bit better? Can you get louder ones?!
Just swapped my Beru spark plugs for NGK, engine running smoother than ever. It's a lovely motor.
I asked that exact same question on 911uk when I 1st got mine. I will check the answers for any updates ,but mine are quiet so interested if a new relay would help. I have just checked. It’s definitely only the relay noise on the early 996 according to the resident very helpful person.
Whilst searching for my post, I did see a three flash flick modification relay which I didn’t realise was a feature on modern cars and sounds useful if you are going in for other reasons!

I can confirm that a 996 key still works after going through the washing machine...
I can confirm that the remote central locking won't work the next day Had a good run out in mine to Bicester today. Its been a big neglected since we moved a few weeks ago, forgot how good they actually are to drive

We need more pictures and the back story on how you found it
That pic's from the ad - will post a few of my own soonCar has very extensive history - including ownership by one Vincenzo Torino proprietor of 'Enzo Hair and Beauty' so it's a hairdresser's car
Car was sold by Friends Green a while ago and picked up by someone did engine work and exhausts but had to sell due to moving abroad and most recent owner very fastidious sorting engine mounts and paint. Fantastic communication and friendly hand over.Thankfully no one has changed orange indicators so is unapologetic fried egg car.
Still has toolkit, both cup holders and umbrella. Seller described it as 'unicorn' - probably right.
This the car?

A very comprehensive write up if it is and certainly ticks some boxes for work done.
I must admit I have fallen in love with my 996 all over again since a full suspension refresh over the winter. it just drives so much better even on the H&R springs. My old 70K and 23 year old M030 dampers must have been absolutely shot as the difference is night and day better.

That's the one. There is a comprehensive list of recent jobs but no suspension work mentioned. Riding nicely on current set up though. Did a PPI anyway which only showed a cracking bush in one rear coffin arm. Suspension refresh is first on the 'to do' list as long as the car doesn't throw me any curve balls.https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11533863

I'm tempted to fit some equal length headers, mainly cos they sound cool but would like to get a remap to make the most of them if possible and would be interested who did the work for the performance kit as a remap is mentioned as part of the work?

Very very nice car. I'm interested in the 'performance kit' though, that throttle is definitely original although I guess it could have been bored out?

Plus mine has got arguably nicer spec but less miles so got to pump those values.
