So tell me you think the 991.1 RS is the best.... Please!!
FWIW my heart would say take the RS. I'm a big fan of PDK but found you have to be driving fast to appreciate how good it is. Bit difficult / risky driving fast on the road. I've done the PDK thing.. if I ever have another GT Porsche it'll quite possibly be manual. I don't miss my (PDK) GT3 one bit - although great car and big achievement (for the money) by Porsche, but found for road driving you may as well be driving a C2. I'm not afraid to admit I get now why people always come back to manual.
I guess it’s what you plan to do with it that counts
I get what you say about spirited road driving, but where can you do that in the the South East... my plan is to do a number of the PCCB Trackdays....
As an aside , on the subject of spirited driving.... What is the latest or earliest in the day anyone had seen a camera van in a lay-by ....??
I really like the UV and I’ve had a look at one - was perfect.... is UV to the 991.1RS as LIZARD is to the 991.2 RS in as much as it’s a special RS only (?) colour ?

Really depends on which county you are doing your 'spirited driving'.I really like the UV and I’ve had a look at one - was perfect.... is UV to the 991.1RS as LIZARD is to the 991.2 RS in as much as it’s a special RS only (?) colour ?
The latest scamera vans have infra red which can bag you at night as well as from a much greater distance up to 1000 metres so they get you before you have even see them.
UV is quite rare on the 991.1 RS whereas every man and his dog appears to have specced Lizard on the gen 2 which somewhat reduces it's appeal.

That is a bit of a shame; they look great in Lizard, but earlier generations of RS (997.2 4.0 excepted) had more than once choice of special, model-specific colour scheme, which I think was a better idea.I collected my new toy from Porsche Colchester on Saturday and I couldn't be happier!
I took delivery on the same day as Archie Hamilton did his, I believe...
The last GT3RS I owned (a 997.1 in fabulous Black & Orange) was back in 2007, and I can't believe it has taken me this long to get back in one...well, I can, it's called sky-high residuals!
So, a little about this car:
- January 2016 registration
- 2 previous owners
- 7,850 miles
Options:
- Ultra Violet exterior paint
- Houndstooth interior
- Clubsport package (half roll cage, six-point harnesses and fire extinguisher)
- Carbon ceramic brakes
- LED headlights
- PCM (Porsche Communication Management)
- Sport Chrono package
- Front axle lifting system
- Porsche Track Precision App
- Full PPF (paint protection film)
- Purchase price £165,000
The next few weeks will bring a trip to Topaz in London for a full detail then it's off to Le Mans for the 24hr Test Day on the first weekend of June.
I can't wait!

Who said cars aren’t selling. Looks so good in LV. As for Archie Hamilton.....oh dear.
I agree Cheib that the 991.1GT3 RS in UV is the only colour to get..Really nice car that and i'd love one in that colour if i didn't have a new RS coming soon..As for AH... what is that cackle he's got....it makes me dive for the mute button..That's why i like The Car Guys and Janko Lind so much..
