Well I finally picked up today after having PPF. What a car !! Early thoughts are; superb suspension, great turn in, ridiculously quick gear changes & addictive downshifts. Never driven car on ceramics, (my 991 Turbo had steels) but they are great feel & not at all grabby. Amazing noise coming from gearbox sounds like a cup car |https://thumbsnap.com/DVHWDUVb[/url]

Feckin unreal !! Just in love with it & only done 50 miles !
Suspension so compliant on B roads, even though clearly suited for track . Brakes I need to get used to as other RS’s not had PCCB, steering very sharp & lovely weight, noise unreal ! Gearshift ridiculous...downshifts are very addictive.
Will get revs up over next 100 miles, but sounds superb in cabin, whines, pops, screams ! Bit like the Mrs ! smile

It's quite a big job I believe...think you might have to take the seats out.

The eats do have to come out to fit the part that goes around your gentlemans bits. I'd get your OPC to do it.

I got OPC to fit driver and passenger harnesses and fire extinguisher for me during PDI. Don't think it took them long, not convinced the seats come out.
The brochure is a good bedtime read while waiting on the Mrs to powder her nose, but two weeks old tomorrow and done 550 miles. Most of that has been motorway (not through choice) so not been up and down the box as much. Coming out of the road works ive revved through the gears to around 5,000 and its certainly got more grunt than my 991.1 GT3. Don't know what it will be like at 9,000. However gear changes are so intuitive and fast, feather the throttle and it changes down immediately. Very comfortable motorway cruising and can feel the composure on A roads. Away all next week so looking to have 1,500 miles on it by next Sat. Ready for track!
Enjoy all,
Cheers.

Got a good few mikes under my belt this week. The car is ridiculously good & is the real deal. I had a long run early this morning with mates in GT3’s & a 997 RS & have really connected with the car. First, the Dunlop’s are superb, I never lost confidence in grip in a complete mixture of roads & speeds. Keeping it above 4K revs keeps the power in the sweet spot.....the noise in insane ! I truly cannot keep out of the thing & just want to be pushing hard whenever I can. Cannot wait for Spa !

Yes Did 250 miles this weekend .... sadly keeping the revs down . Mine came on Dunlops as well unfortunately but will see on track sometime . Ride actually softer after than I thought it would be ... maybe I remember all the years in a 64 RS ..

Why keeping the revs down ? Porsche do not tell you to. Few mates that have GT3 have never kept revs down & just used them pretty much straight away

Porsche do if you read the manuals, :-) even AP gives you a better way to run in over the 4K for 1800 daft run in time which is in the manuals.

Personal choice at the end of the day I guess.

I don’t agree with hitting 9k revs at 150miles but I also don’t agree with 1800 miles at 4K

I fully agree with Mr D here..My GT3 has just passed 1.4K miles and i now consider it fully run-in and ready for 9k, but only when warm..I follow AP's advice on running in my GT Porsches which is logical, however i don't possess the self restraint to keep revs under 4K until 1.8K miles.

Sod that ! 1.4k before revving the engine. I think if you spoke to Porsche where they build the engines they would tell you it’s ok to rev the engines pretty much from new. I’m sure these are already pretty much run in pre-delivery.

I think many of us follow Andreas Preuninger's advice - if he is not a reliable source, then I am not sure who is? I've had the pleasure of speaking to him a couple of times and his advice feels instinctively right. Basically, it is do not exceed 5kpm for first 500km, and then add 500rpm each 200km. If feels like a really progressive way to run the engine in.

I agree the Porsche manual advice does not make sense - 1,800 miles followed a cliff edge change from 4krpm to 9krpm. It's like going from a jog to a full bore 100 metre sprint with no warming up.

Anyhow, I am an AP disciple!
