Tyres: All 4 of my ps2’s will need changing soon.
F - 225/40 R - 265/35 - 18 inch.
Was going to go ps4, but ps5 seem available also.
Anybody tried tge PS5 — on a 996 or something else?
Reviews seem to say they are just a PS4 evolution & perhaps harder wearing…..?

I was very impressed, incredibly quiet and smooth running, loads of grip, the only very slight negative was the turn in was less precise, but overall, I was very impressed with them and would definitely buy them again.

Seems like a nice car but very overpriced.I’m looking at selling my 996 soon, it’s a 1998 in artic silver.
It’s got Porsche embossed headrests and a factory switchable exhaust.
There are a few little marks here and a couple of scrapes as you would expect from 24 year old car.
It was also Cat D in 2008 (have a picture with the rear bumper damaged) and had an engine build at 63,000 in 2010.
It’s currently done 113,000.
What do you guys think for a price?

If automatic maybe £8,000, if manual £10,000 - somewhere around those numbers. It’s got Porsche embossed headrests and a factory switchable exhaust.

Most owners will be optimistic on pricing and most none owners will be brutal, that's just the way it seems to work.
We have shown this 164k car before. It sounds a bit tatty and the price has been dropping, currently at 12500 and seemingly no buyers - which surprises me.... Edit I just checked back through the last few pages and can't see it so I will add it below here.
Now back to your car. If you really want to sell then it depends on your situation and the time you're willing to invest in a sale. You could start higher and lower your price as time goes by. But only do this if you're willing to wait a while. You don't want to start dropping the price too quickly. Quite often cars with a very low price seem to never sell.
As I have 2 of these I can't believe the floor is below 10k even if a car is Cat D. So maybe try somewhere higher and see how you get on. The blue car below seems to be struggling at 12500 but it's much higher mileage, it's not a Cat car and it claims to have a Hartech rebuild. If you do decide to mention the engine rebuild then know that it might put some people off. So you could just omit it from your sales ad. Better educated Porsche nerds like Me would want to know who rebuilt it and how. So if you don't know this detail or it's not a brilliantly well known rebuild outfit then I'd leave it out.
A well written ad will talk about any work or maintenance done to the car recently. So yes mention the bad stuff but also don't forget the good stuff too.
Once you have your ad let us know and we can critique it.
Personally I hate selling cars especially when I know they're good cars. Buyers seem to assume all cars are just rubbish and want them for nothing. Or they want perfect cars and don't want to pay perfect money.
Good Luck

well look at listings. circa 90K miles with no Cat D history is £13K.I looked at the Blue car several months ago. I decided against it for several reasons, the main one being that i thought i liked Lapis but decided i wanted a Black car instead. I have been stalking the 3.4 market several times a day for the past year..Anal right. i have come to the conclusion that the market for the early manual C2 cars is very strong and on the rise.
I have looked at around 6 cars and all sold relatively quickly. Silver and C4 cars..... there's lot's on the market and they seem to be the one's hanging around for a while. That will probably change as the supply for the 3.4 C2 manual cars is drying up as most owners can see the rise on the way. I managed to buy a Black car albeit with the compromise of a sunroof. Most of these early cars are a bit tatty and i decided to buy at the low end of the market as they will all need paint, suspension refresh, including the Blue car being discussed. The Blue car has lot's going for it if you are prepared to spend 10-12k on it to make it top notch. The engine threw a rod and has not had a full re-build. I spoke with Baz at Hartech after viewing the car.
Happy to discuss the car via PM if anyone is considering purchasing.

The Black car above has had a big front end prang. Unrecorded. Found this out after a pricey inspection. Seller had it painted and played dumb once rumbled.
Do your homework... Any car that is missing it's bonnet options sticker.........

Can i confirm the Blue car I posted which you viewed isn't Lapis right? I really like Lapis but they only seem to be available in gen 2.I have looked at around 6 cars and all sold relatively quickly. The Blue car is Lapis. Lapis is quite popular in the 3.4 cars. I have seen quite a few advertised. Most have had Savannah or light Grey interiors. I viewed the one discussed because it was the ideal spec with Black interior. Hard to find. Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
