The large chip adjacent to the spoke is big enough to scrap the rotor. Odd it has chips in the disc, and paint chips on some of the calipers (pic 71) at low miles.
Scrapping one rotor means scrapping the other on the same axel so a £10k bill...
If the other rotor is within wear limit range and unchipped, only one would need replacement.
Wouldn’t you need to replace the pads on both sides, if replacing the or both discs.

I was always under the impression both disks on the same
axle should be replaced at the same time. Does this not apply to ceramic brake discs?
If the good disc on the opposing side is within wear parameters no need to replace it. I’ve had one side and both on 991 iterations replaced under warranty.

Pads again if worn yes if not clean them up and pop them back in.

Steel Brakes every day for 10k you get about 5 sets of discs and pads ..... front and rear from OPC .... and easy to fit
Agreed but the PCCB are hugely durable just sensitive to impact damage when removing the wheels without care. The friction surface is very hard.

Uh... you certainly are not getting 5 sets of steel discs and pads from an OPC for £10k.....

Would be good if people could feedback on how it goes... several others have said they have used.. but then never reported back.

Would be great service for the community! TIA.

Is there any way to fix the milky nut syndrome? I've just bought a car that has this and it bothers me.
I've found you can improve them significantly with an anodised aluminium polish, followed by a ceramic coating.

Rebrake in their incarnation as sicom I believe had some issues so would be useful to know if those have now been fully resolved.

Agreed, I bought one almost identical the one above on CC and glad I had ended up with steels, although the dust is ridiculous!

Also, I suspect we will find out this car is actually jet black metallic. Basalt black is metallic and would have to be PTS back then which I dont think was possible. In the brochure the options were black or jet black met, implying the black option was solid.
Yea dust is mental and makes the wheels look a
Mess after even short journeys, got a red hue to the dust too. Given the choice I would go PCCB’s all day!

Will do.

Wolfgang the MD has been great so far, will arrange pick up no VAT as exported for repair. Need to get a wiggle on putting the GT back together as the first batch of recall parts arrive end of June clap

I’ve heard that pccb pads can be used with steel discs to cut down on the brake dust but I’m not sure on how accurate this is and how well they would preform either.

I run endless on PCCB - superb pad - they will reduce dust on a steel rotor (endless pads for steel rather than CCB).

Endless MA45s are the best pad I've used on steels. (Very) Pricey but worth the extra over the more usual pagids imo. Just a tad squeaky though wink

Pagid RSL29's are squeaky enough. I followed a coach down the slipway onto the Euriotunnel last week and was embarrassed, but relieved most would assume it was the bus making the racket. hehe

So the Rebrake refub works on the Gen1 PCCBs too by the lookst of it: 1.950 € plus 19% VAT per disc.

Interesting I'm on Pagid RSC1s with PCCB on the GT4 and no squeaking at all - 2 trackdays on em so far.

Rsc1s are a mainly road biased pad - or at least they are not supposed to be a 'track' pad like rs29s.
