Anyone know this car or dealer (black 997 aero kit)
Discussion
Had a bit of a bad experience with "sports and prestige Slough" today.
Here is the car http://m.sportsandprestigeslough.co.uk/used-car-po...
It's a 2008 black 997 C2S with aero kit, alcantara steering wheel and gear knob so should be pretty unique if anyone has experience of it.
On paper it was the perfect car for me, good price, spec and colour. But the dealer very rudely put the phone down on me after I asked a few questions. I smell a rat here and wonder if the car has a shady history.
Cheers
Rob

This is the list of questions I had when I phoned. Before we started I said I was a buyer with funds available and ready to go. He was near London and I'm in Yorkshire so need to know all details before I commit to a drive down.
Number of owners
When did last owner buy it
Is aero kit factory fitted
Date, location and mileage of every service
Marks/dents/scratches on bodywork/wheels/interior
Do they have any history of engine work for either IMS failure or Bore scoring?
Do they check for over-revs when they get a car in?
Could I arrange for an independent review of the car subject to a deposit being paid?
And finally,
How long have you had the car?
Now the guy was being a bit shirty with all the questions but when I asked how long he'd had the car he said "3 days". I said I've been watching the car on autotrader for a month and that they've recently changed price from £36k to 34k. He said that was a different car, to which I replied it wasn't. He then said "clearly you know what you are looking for and this car isn't for you" and hung up!!!!

Yes he did, other than the question about marks on bodywork as I hadn't actually got round to asking that.
He also said late (2007/8) gen 1 997s don't suffer from IMS/bore scoring issues. Is this correct? I know the earlier ones were more prone to it but didn't think it was completely eradicated until gen 2.

Thanks Jimmy P. I've viewed several cars in my local area (50 mile radius) and not needed to ask questions as they weren't too far away. But as Slough was a 6hr round trip I wanted a good idea of the car before I drove down. To be honest if he answered straight and the car was fine I would've paid a deposit over phone and collected it next week. I have my suspicions that the car is a lemon and he knew I would uncover it with the inspection so didn't want to waste either of our time.
