Hi Everyone
Know it been asked before, but not in a while, not for a Gen 2 Cayman and not with DAB...

So what are the "latest" options for ICE with BT Navi & DAB?

Thanking you all in anticipation

I am about to replace my CDR-30 with a Kenwood DNX-4230DAB. I'll try to post some pics after it is all done.

Done this in my 987 Boxster. Looks great.

If you do it, PM me. I have a Porsche splash screen bmp to replace the standard Kenwood splash, and installation instructions.

That does look good.
Did you have to get a new surround & cage to make it fit so well?
Fantastic looking interior too
:-)

That looks great Paul. Did you replace the PCM or did you just have radio/CD in there before? I've got the standard radio/CD in mine and replacing it with this looks like a great option. Did you do it yourself or get someone to do it for you?

It was installed by the Kenwood dealer in Reading. The surround is a part designed specifically for Porsche which comes as part of the kit.

Just had the radio / CD - wouldn't try to fit it myself though. It took the Kenwood dealer nearly 5 hours, and he's done it before!!!!

Cost around £1150 fitted, including the cage/surround/wiring/GPS antennae

I replaced the Kenwood splash screen with the Porsche. Got the instructions from the Kenwood forum, found the picture somewhere and resized it to the Kenwood spec.
As I said earlier, I have the splash in BMP format ready to install, together with instructions if anyone wants it. Its a pretty easy job to do - takes just a few minutes

Regards
Paul

OK so not quite according to plan. The DAB aerial needs to be screen mounted and we could not find a suitable alternative quickly.

The Garmin SatNav does NOT come with safety camera sites. These need to be loaded as points of interest (POI) from a 3rd party vendor and it took a while to get the instructions to make sense as the POI Loader did not recognise my 32GB USB stick. So had to go via an SD card and then copy the directory across.

One last issue I cannot find a solution for is getting the Music Editor Kite playlist to be recognised by the USB player - which is a major issue as that is one of my major sources of music.
