It can be based on an RS, if an RS is a production model.
In fact the first GT3 RS (996), existed purely as a homolgation run for suspension mounts for the next seasons race car.
Thanks. Maybe a surprise reveal of one soon then, as the clubsport sound nothing like the this GT4. In fact the first GT3 RS (996), existed purely as a homolgation run for suspension mounts for the next seasons race car.
Can the GPF real make that much difference to the sound?

My sexy, hairy German masseuse made an appearance.
Its a 4 litre N/A but don't think the gearing has changed and don't expect a high revving engine.
Its very strong up to 6k revs and, these were her words, it sounds a bit muted compared to the first gen. Filter zaps the sound...
Spyder is a soft top GT4. Said it again...
Think Geneva launch
Next time you speak to her can you ask about the GT4RS pls. Seems to have gone very quiet about that.ThanksIts a 4 litre N/A but don't think the gearing has changed and don't expect a high revving engine.

And you really think that was a realistic want given the prospective price point of the car ie £70-80k?
The 718 gt4 clubsport not exactly cheap at 157,000 euros for the competition spec car is still over €30,000 cheaper than the 991.2 Cup....the engine spec in part reflects that difference in price.
True. what can i say i'm a daydreamer. still got my fingers crossed they build a GT4RS to put me out of my misery. lolThe 718 gt4 clubsport not exactly cheap at 157,000 euros for the competition spec car is still over €30,000 cheaper than the 991.2 Cup....the engine spec in part reflects that difference in price.

To confirm £90k list is correct. Will push the speculators out as there won’t be enough premium in one, even myself that buys GT cars at list would agree that 90k is a massive chunk over the Previous car
If it is 450-460 hp GT3 engine, even at 90K you will have huge demand for them and big premiums!Twinfan said:
OK, so the latest info from Rennteam is:
Its a 4L in four HP configurations.
- 370-380hp Boxster/Cayman 6...yes, that is what its called, 718 Cayman 6.
- 425hp GT4 manual only
- 485hp GT4 RS late 2020 or early 2021. PDK only. Very limited car
- And somewhere in between they will squeeze a special Boxster Anniversary with possibly 450hp.

Has there ever been a more hyped and drawn out car launch?

It's absolutely barmy isn't it?
I can see them turning up right at the wrong time, being massively overpriced, and demand being less than expected...
Yes, crazy how long its taking.I can see them turning up right at the wrong time, being massively overpriced, and demand being less than expected...
I don't think demand will be an issue. Even back in 2008 i remember the newly launched R8 getting 20K+ premium. However if there isn't a huge demand I'd guess they would simply build less to keep demand high.
They also have the super exclusive GT4RS model up their sleeve to ensure that people are still banging the OPC's doors down trying to secure a car!

I've never really paid that much attention to any manufacturers annual figures tbh. But you are right, Porsches sales figures will head downwards. I think with the imminent arrival of the Taycan, that will keep help, but other models will be more difficult to shift. Having said that, the 997.2 rs was immediately sold out in 2010 and the rs4.0 was selling over list at launch. That was without the much bigger customer base that they have built over the last 10 years with respect to GT cars!
If demand is not there for GT cars, it is my guess that they will simply build less to keep demand high. It is more important in the long term for them to keep demand high now, so they can build more when things pick up!

Found on facebook. I’ve not seen these images before so thought I’d share. Disregard if seen previously.
Inviting speculation; do we think pricing the 718 GT4 at the same as the new 911 C2S makes sense?
I know they’re totally different cars but I don’t see it...
Really like the look of it!
