Doing the miles is fine just don't expect 40k for it come resale. That's just the market though. 20ish k they sell 30ish not so well unless they are priced accordingly.
I was a manualist myself at one time but I maintain on a relatively normal car like a Cayman manual gearboxes are just un necessary jiggling about of your left leg. If anything changing gear manually actuality takes your focus away from how the car is steering/handling in addition to slowing you down.
You should be changing gears instinctively so it shouldn't influence your focus whatsoever. Plus the PDK box is a lot heavier than manual negating any advantage of speedy changes It certainly doesn't slow me down I was a manualist myself at one time but I maintain on a relatively normal car like a Cayman manual gearboxes are just un necessary jiggling about of your left leg. OPC it seems cannot sell you the larger R exhaust !!! they only sell the S 48MM exhaust not the 55MM R one.
Carnewal can though, very odd.
I am new to the world of modern Porsches so forgive any dumb questions. why would they take off a 55mm R exhaust and put a 48mm S pipe on it? That sounds like a retrograde step? Carnewal can though, very odd.
At 2k are they replacing the whole exhaust system? Seems a lot of money for an improvement in sound
Not averse to a trip to Belgium if Carnewal do a switchable 55mm option
Who is old Bob?
the muffler can always be changed for better sound, its the 55mm R exhaust which is the one to have!
else its a a downgrade in power, the sports exhaust gives no more power just sound.
as I said, I have a complete Non-PSE manifolds cats exhaust 55mm on the shelf only 6k miles on it.
I have no idea what to charge for it, but get the OPC price and I`ll knock 40% off. Im not using it but I can keep it on the shelf too but if someone needs it then ok.

Noticed a couple of price reductions including this white one

The stars need to line up for 40+k. Sub 20k, buckets, chrono, spyders, nav needed.

Not really....private sale....hardly been up a week that one and reducing it already......one needy seller doesn't make a market.....http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Big ripples in a small market though. Mine goes Thursday. Sad times but its been a fantastic car. Theres a very real chance I might own the same one again. Local chap has bought it who likes to keep them a year or so. Other than that I think the R8 itch needs to be scratched but ultimately I think as a daily the Cayman is the car for me. Utterly fantastic car.

cars need to be buckets and manual then cars can be upto £50k depending on miles.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

I have not seen a car sub 20k miles with the main R bits sell for sub 40k !!!
OPC cars are always shifting fast the only 2 manual cars with buckets at an OPC are £45k and £48k
The only other one I can see is 911 Virgin's car also at £45k with correct spec.
no other R's have a good selling spec for todays buyers of that car. which to me means market value is £45k
I would say all 3 of these will sell quite fast.
Big ripples in a small market ! what planet are you on ? it seems you still don't get the R market do you ? or the specs !

How many Cayman R owners use the R as a daily car? What do you find the advantages and disadvantages to this are?
I do. Advantages are driving a CR every day. Disadvantages haven't reared their head yet. The two boots are surprisingly practical, it can return 36mpg bimbling on A roads, easy to park/manoeuvre, 54l tank is a little small, gets up to temp in fairly short time.philnotts said:
Also opinions on the rear wiper!?
Some folk are offended by the aesthetic. For me, it was on the car I bought - I neither sought it nor was repelled by it. It clears the screen nicely.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
