Lots of people make that error.
Can you imagine, going to your OPC on the day of handover to collect a beautiful £70k+ GTS 4.0.
You nestle behind the wheel, look down to set the cabin temperature, and find you’ve got the same air con as a base Polo
Honestly doubt I’d notice or care if I’d just been handed the keys to brand new one of them..Can you imagine, going to your OPC on the day of handover to collect a beautiful £70k+ GTS 4.0.

Dear oh dear. Some people really are victims of the options list aren’t they? Can you imagine, going to your OPC on the day of handover to collect a beautiful £70k+ GTS 4.0.

It’s so easy to be. I must admit that I would have been surprised to find manual heating and AC, thinking it was single zone CC.
In the long run I’d have got used to it. I’ve had the VX220 for 16 years (ffs, where did that go?) and the simple heater controls have been fine.
Then again it came standard on my M140 (I think) and it certainly did on my S4.
I have tried to be light on options and even I have succumbed to £9.9k of them (not 10, no it’s not 10, if I keep telling myself...)

We ordered a Cayman GTS for next May 2021 delivery on Thursday, deposit paid £3k March production slot 2021.
Spec is PDK, Miami Blue, Black extended leather with Yellow stitching, Porsche crests, ceramic brakes, dual zone climate, LED’s, light design pack, folding mirrors, Bose, racing yellow belts, racing yellow dials, Carbon dash trims, heated seats, cruise control, parking sensors with camera.
Have waited for this for the last three years, loved my old 981 GTS apart from the lack of steering feel. Anyway not really mine it’s the other Half's daily.

I have narrowed down the colour choice on my Cayman to either Gentian blue or Guards red. What are peoples thoughts on Guards nowadays?
Guards is a classic Porsche colour and suits the Cayman/Boxster, although, if I was going for ‘red’ I’d go Carmine - I think it’s a GT colour, a bit more subtle and much rarer.I saw Gentian Blue in the showroom. Looks stunning, but will take more effort to keep that way.
All colours can look different depending on wheel colour choice

Depends what you want the car for. Porsches - even the GT ones - aren't really the uncompromised drivers cars that (for example) most Lotus or Caterham ones are. So you are left to choose the options you like and which don't detract from other aspects of the Porsche you like. Let's be honest Porsches aren't light cars (whatever BS Porsche "lightweight" models might suggest) - so why not specify climate etc etc. It really isn't going to change the driving experience if it actually has infotainment or heated seats, though it may expand the useability of the car.Koln-RS said:

Last time I bought a 981 Boxster GTS I thought I’d save on the dual zone CC. After all, dual zone? Who needs it? Mistake. The standard system was non-intuitive and very hard to operate. What the upgrade gives you is a simple clear system which allows you to set a temperature and leave it. My advice is go for it, Polo or otherwise.
