I'd agree with that PMSL. Reads like his trying to convince himself it's not any good and looking for reassurance from his fellow peers... classic signs of insecurity lol
I get my reassurance just by stepping into my garage. Very secure knowing I have the better product.

Of course you are but that's not how you are coming across Very secure knowing I have the better product.
I'm sure you are very happy with your 2 owner gts purchased from opc Sheffield. I wonder who the first owner was? Hope it wasn't Silverstone

Yes, it is 'Crayon' , I also hate it as a colour, but maybe if you pay extra you might actually get a final paint coat, not just primer!
It’s funny, of the 8 Caysters I’ve owned my Crayon CS has been given the most positive comments with regards to colour choice and aesthetics from the public. My Carmine 981 BGTS and Guards Red 987 Spyder never got the same response, even being in louder colours! I don’t think the wheel choice is doing the car you borrowed any favours, and that interior is awful. Here it is done right

By chavved - up, I think he means this:
I think he has a point !
Also, wheels on this car were badly kerbed on all but OSF...
His post refers to the side view not lights . I think he has a point !

You cant blame the car for kerbed wheels . You do sound like just picking faults for the sake of it.
I like the crayon colour though

I don't have any of the sports kit on mine, it's all pretty standard. Headlights are PDSL so have a tighter 4 dot structure around the bulb, rear lights aren't tinted. I kept the standard steering 918 style wheel, ironically as I found the optional GT one a bit plasticky My overall colour/wheel choice was based on the newer options available on the 718 and I was going for more of a retro look. Crayon would have been my other choice.

...and just for you Twinfan, I did in fact take two snaps, spoiler up and down, though I think it looks worse down?
...and not sure about rear wiper...- WHY?
How I convinced myself to buy a 981 with a wiper when I almost did (it really doesn't need one!):

This is the 981 I almost bought. Anyone recognise the (rare) colour?:
T'was rear ended by a Peugeot as the seller drove it to his OPC for the 111 point inspection I'd requested as part of the purchase.
I decided to steer clear of the purchase at that point (and Peugeot drivers for ever).

This post history has given me a full house on Wikipedia article bingo. Very secure knowing I have the better product.

He doesn't actually come across as being all that secure, does he ? Maybe that's just my read.
I'd have to agree with the above wikipedia comment re some of the recent postings. Having to openly state how 'secure' you are whilst being so negative about other options doesn't actually seem all that secure...
CheshireCat, how did the 718 actually drive ? You touched a bit on the acceleration & steering but I'd be interested to read more feedback from a 981 owner about the power response / 'improved' handling on the 718 rather than comments about the look of the 'arse' of the car, blanking switches and air vents

There are several 981 owners who have driven a 718 either as a demo or a loan car, myself included. I've said these things before, but to continue the discussion
Power response - it's a turbo and the accelerator pedal feels 'elastic', there's less of a direct connection between you and the engine. I don't like it, but it's a turbo thing not a 718-specific thing.
Supposedly improved handling - I couldn't tell much difference to be honest, The steering was a bit quicker, which I didn't like. I prefer the slightly lazier and more precise (for me) rack of the 981. I find it easier to hold a precise line, it's less twitchy/sensitive.
The biggest changes from 981 to 718 are engine, tech and possibly steering. Everything else is minor tweaks only,

I had a 981 CS and 981 BGTS and for me the handling and performance is better from my 718 CS. I like the steering, very precise and pointy, and obviously overtaking power is phenomenal compared to the NASPs.
The engine note is the only reason I know it won’t be a long term keeper, I really hope I can get a 718 Spyder and if not then I’m hoping Porsche work some magic with the 718 successor.
I had looked at getting back into a 981 a couple of months ago but in many ways it felt like too much of a step backwards for me, and I like new things
