Ah yes, here we go: " fanbois typically spend most of their free time telling anyone who will listen how perfect their xxx of choice is, and how inferior all other products are. fanbois will not stop annoying other people until everyone they know is converted to their way of thinking."

Indeed. The A-P now now has its own page on Wikipedia. Google "fanboi" and see what you find....

I suggest you go back to the time I first got a Cayman 981- you will find that the things I criticised then are exactly the same as I criticise now. Their utterly absurd approach to weight "saving" was and remains one of my pet hates. You won't even find me saying anywhere that my current choice is a better car overall than the 981S - just that I prefer it. Yes I do call out those who criticise it unfairly - who mostly seem to be Porsche fanboys.Ah yes, here we go: " fanbois typically spend most of their free time telling anyone who will listen how perfect their xxx of choice is, and how inferior all other products are. fanbois will not stop annoying other people until everyone they know is converted to their way of thinking."

There is something epically demonic in coming onto the GTS 4.0 thread - the GT based flat six which died and was buried, and has risen from the grave to save us all, and saying it’s all really a bit rubbish!
Never said anything of the sort. I have not the slightest doubt that it will be a very good car and (imo) a vast improvement on the F4T. Is that clear enough for you? However, that doesn't mean it is above criticism. All I said was that it was a bit silly to get fixated by the weight of options.Edited by bcr5784 on Sunday 15th March 10:40

I have narrowed down the colour choice on my Cayman to either Gentian blue or Guards red. What are peoples thoughts on Guards nowadays?
Colours come and go but Guards is one of the best 'traditional' Porsche colours.Great road presence, safe, not too lairy, easy to keep clean and its free.
Gentian a great colour too especially for a GTS although some consider it a touch dull.

It's all part of the master plan....bcr5784 said:
Seems to me that some of us should agree to "infect" all the Porsche threads with a variety of pseudonyms and whenever someone mentions 718, however obliquely we trot out
1) It's German and therefore boring
2) Sounds like a bad cross between a beetle and a tractor
3) Weighs as much as a tank and feels like it
4) Switchgear that would make an ergonomist weep
5) £50k and you still have to pay extra for decent seats and the sort of toys every hatchback has as standard
6) Reduced to making "lightweight" versions by deleting the stereo, making the petrol tank smaller and fitting silly door pulls that would be out of place in a Dacia - and it still weighs as much as a tank.
Johnston's "a white goods sportscar" is a good put down.

Do you have a build date yet? Factories in germany will be at 50% output at best?
Yes I think it's a certainty that all car production will/could grind a halt in the very near future, so build dates been given out now imo are meaningless and could be at least 6 months out?Just hope I'm wrong of course.

As you well know that was a tongue in cheek ripost to the silly posts which you and your kind infect any Alpine thread with.
You'll struggle to find any comments by me about the Alpine, and I feel it's entirely appropriate to respond when you keep slagging off Porsche. You now claim to like the Porsche "overall" and yet you've been specifically critical of its,
- Engine
- Gearbox
- Steering
- Chassis
- Seats
- Cockpit layout
- Weight
- Price
- Stereo

Yes I'm thinking it's very unlikely my car will turn up in Q2 now! It will probably arrive just in time for winter Just hope I'm wrong of course.

All perfectly fair areas for criticism. I can make (and have made) criticism of the Alpine in most of those areas and one or two others too (albeit different ones) - perhaps, I'm just more analytical and critical than you.You now claim to like the Porsche "overall" and yet you've been specifically critical of its,
