Hi All,
Had an R for 5 years, loved it and sold it about a year ago.

I’ve got a spare set of Oz Racing Ultraleggera HLT wheels which are going on the ‘bay shortly but I can’t find the offset and width markings on the wheels - they were a direct bolt on replacement for the Spyder wheels - I needed them as wanted to run Cup2 tyres which weren’t N rated at the time in the R sizes.

As a starter for me could someone pls confirm the diameter, pcd and offset for the Spyder alloys as fitted to the R?

Many thanks,
Kevin
Hi Kevin !
Not huge help, but I had exactly the same wheels on my Cayman (recently departed with all associated paperwork so can't check !). They were supplied for me by RPM Technik, so at a push they would be able to confirm the correct sizes......

Jamie
Fortunately, the buyer of that car was browsing this thread this evening (hi Jamie) and looked back in the (very detailed) folder that Jamie supplied with the car.

The wheels are OZ Ultraleggera HLT
Front - 8.5x19 PCD 130 and an offset of 53
Rear - 10x19 PCD 130 and offset of 40

Hope it's of some use.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for helping out ! Hope all's going well ? Interestingly Kevin (OP) and I followed similar paths, going from 964RS to Cayman........

Jamie

Hi all for Sale.

I was having a clear out I come across this might be of interest for someone here first.

A brand new in the box limited edition book and the CR wallet all brand new very rare especially in this condition.
Looking for £50.00 plus p&p
I do have a copy of one of those books. I got it from a Porsche dealer when they were new and then realised the dream of owning the car 10 years later.

Nice to have the full set with the folder though. @traceydeedance - shame you hadn’t left it in the boot of the car with the service history when you sold it. Would be nice to match them up with the car again smile

Cayman R seems like a lot of car for the money, very nice indeed. Used to be a guy near me that had one, always admired it when walking past.

I’ve become obsessed with trying to find a CR or Boxster Spyder - you may have seen my other thread. Missing out on a Spyder at the weekend which I think with a bit of haggling would have been a ‘deal’…

However. As i am a very impulsive chap I’m constantly checking the classifieds / ebay / well known Porsche dealers and keep coming back to a ‘higher’ mileage black manual CR that 911 virgin have for sale. Does anyone on here know the car? Comparing it to some of the others for sale across (inc private sales) the uk it doesnt look too badly priced. I don’t want a car to keep underwraps but somthing I’m happy to drive when the mood takes me. So I’m actually not too put off by a car with 50k ish miles.

Should I be holding out for a better spec / lower mileage for my £40k? Especially considering economy / people will prob be happy to invest / leave money in savings now interest are starting to increase, rather than borrow cheap money to purchase such cars?

It is worth noting that particular one doesn’t have air conditioning. Some won’t be bothered by that, nor you perhaps?

I would hold out as between now and spring is when the amount of listings often increases, though there is no rhyme or reason to it, but I’d hold out of I was you.
If there is flex in your budget it’s worth noting just how much more R you can get for £10-20% more.

In your view what would make it ‘more R’ as you say? I thought these were the good seats, manual, light wheels and the PSE ? So what extra should I want? Thanks v much for the info

well one could say to make it more R, to be as close to the ethos of the car, would be radio delete and no AC and ceramics. Depends what does it for you but I'd be wanting - PCM3.0 and the telephone connection box in the arm rest? and extended leather dash and door card? if none of that matters to you then hey it is a lovely one - there is nothing to fault it on....just you may find over the next few months others around the same price with a few extras (AC etc) AND less miles....but hey does it really matter? I sense your heart is set on it - I would go for it. They are highly reputable dealer too.

That’s good info. I’ve actually only been interested in an another ‘new to me’ car for about a week, so I prob do need to be told to hang about and bide my time for the right one. My other half is saying the same. I did show my 5 year old the black CR earlier and she went to her piggy bank and brought me 15p. So she defo doesn’t want me to hang about, to the point I heard her telling my wife that “daddy would even sell his motorbike”

I'm in a similar boat with upto about £40k to spend and also had R high on the list and spending far too much time scouring the market...

I went to look at the car at 911virgin just to compare the seats vs standard, ( i didn't drive it ). I think it confirmed I'd want buckets but tbh Pole Positions or Nogaros I find more comfortable but each to their own snd obvs they lack the value/cache etc..In the end I took it no further as I figured in hot summers I might wish I had aircon but it certainly looked a nice example at face value and they seemed a nice bunch of people..

I had the same dilemma re diving in or hanging back due to the nature of the market..

Having owned a really well modded S I'm struggling a little with spending double on an R and tbh I'm starting to sway more towards Evora S/Exige but will see..

You could make the S more R like with this!

I also have looked at this ad. Does it have all the right bits though? Also looks a bit tatty (mentions some body work issues / decals needing to be replaced / window switch / PSE not functioning) maybe for 35k it would be ok and spend some money getting the bits sorted

Nice one listed today

I think it is one a member here used to own going by the rare painted PDK bezel.
Shame they couldnt be arsed to take any current pics of the car
That's my old car which I sold back in 2021 not long after the 10 anniversary year gathering, when I moved to a 718 GT4.
The pictures are from when RPM sold it last I think.

That’s mine. Now back in the UK and back to its original UK identity after its 5 year sojourn on Manx plates. It’s a mighty clean car. No rusty exhaust bolts here. Dry stored all its life so far, and used as intended. Driving it back to back with my GT4 is fascinating and really shows what a fine car the R actually is. Got to go to make space for the incoming 4RS, hope I don’t regret it in a few years time.

Yup solid black. It looks amazing when it’s clean (which lasts for about a nano second after you have cleaned it laugh )
The RS is in track rat spec. So guards red, steel brakes, WP, aluminum wheels, and all the other little bits you need that Porsche are to tight to give you. It will be used as intended. driving
