Skill less you mean ?
It's 1 finger driving , even drifting, was tempted to post a vid taking a film in one hand while resting my foot on the dash while drifting on a round about, but thought I might get nicked lol.

OT...but how come you drive so many different cars? Are you in the trade/car journo??
I hope you don't mind me asking!
He writes for some one, not sure why he keeps it quite.I hope you don't mind me asking!
Thing is 30 minutes in these cars does not mean much imo.
How many people ever agree with jurno's , just about selling a story/ mag.
Lets get the facts right chaps......
Pushing a button to change gear largely went out with theark tiptronics....unless perhaps you are a m/f steering wheel geek.
With PDK one changes gear using a flappy paddle.
PDK S is totally different to PDK.
All this misunderstanding and confusion is even further proof that the bearded PDK haters have probably never even driven one and have certainly never experienced the benefits of one on a day to day basis. In contrast, those having owned both PDK and 'manuel' can feel justifiably experienced and qualified to comment.......

Hate to get dragged into this but this mantra gets repeated so often it's really quite baffling... Exactly how 'totally different' is PDK-S than PDK? You pull a paddle, it changes gear, albeit a bit quicker and sharper. That's not my definition of 'totally different'. I also note that the 918 which is the true example of what Porsche are able to do technologically has never claimed to have this novel and wonderful PDK-S box but merely a very highly refined and advanced PDK unit.
I find it astonishing that there are some people who simply refuse to accept that some other people want manual gearboxes, as if it is some sort of illegitimate choice.
It doesn't matter what type of automated gearbox it is (old-school automated manual, dual clutch, torque converter, AMG's hybrids), some people want a conventional manual. Why is that so hard to accept?

Unless you can heel and toe i.e. use a manual gearbox properly, you are NOT qualified to say you can use a manual gearbox properly.Pushing a button to change gear largely went out with the

.... All this stuff about a heavy clutch etc is just an urban myth.....
To be fair, a manual GT3's clutch is pretty heavy (compared to the other manual cars I've driven, at least), to the point of it getting annoying/tiring if in stop-start traffic for a long time. But, it is a completely irrelevant point in the general topic of some people simply wanting manual gearboxes, and wanting the right to choose. Vive le choix.
I'm curious whether the GT4's clutch is different to the standard Cayman's and therefore any heavier and more direct.

I drove an R-tronic V8 R8 though Wales a couple of years back. Would have much preferred a manual but I was surprised how much I enjoyed driving it. It required a little lift off the throttle then flicking the paddle to select the next gear then back on the throttle again. It was quite fun and the down changes were very smooth but it was all a bit too easy after a while.
You end up being 'along for the ride' as opposed to 'driving' the car.

Whoosh parrot aside........same reason as why you spell Fawlty Faulty.....but mine was deliberate.......
I don't get it still, I spelt faulty that way because I am crap at spelling (so not the same reason) and every one knows this , but you choose to spell it wrong, but I don't see the joke !I am the 1st to say I cannot spell for st, but I can change gear, and while I find my poor spelling frustrating like driving a GT3 :-p is, I find changing with a manual box very rewarding.
