+1. My thoughts exactly. If it was like a 991 & potentially loosing 15/20k in a year- that's too much cost for the pleasure! For me anyway- unless I was substantially better off!
No, not what I said. A weekend car is a luxury, not a must, so if I'm going to be spending that sort of money, I want to at least be fairly confident that its value isn't going to drop like a stone, as I couldn't justify it otherwise. If it breaks even, or makes a small yearly loss, I'm comfortable with that, but it is a factor when picking this sort of car; it just so happens that I'm a huge fan of Porsches of which their GT cars tend to do quite well due to limited(ish) numbers.

1st private add to go on, Mike from Chesire - £108k mid spec, making that sapphire blue from ZJM look even better value for 102 and better spec'd! Mike are you on the forum?

There's another black one for sale privately from the Reading area on Autotrader. Porsche staff car maybe?

So the Yellow £110k car sold yesterday and another, cheaper car, has sold this afternoon. These cars are quietly selling despite the time of year.
Ohh interesting now which one was this ?
Hi Sooty sorry late reply - yes it is getting very interesting. I will probably be able to advise on another sale tomorrow. DM/PM me if you need more detail.

So it seems the black one on Autotrdaer is the first one to deviate from the 100k mark!

Reasonable spec for £96,999 - Private sale!

Could put the pressure on the ones currently listed for 10k plus more which are currently up for sale!

Price makes sense if anyone is willing to take on the possible burden of a private purchase. The end result would be a similar margin for the seller anyway, given most dealers want £5-10k of sale price.

What "burden" do you get for buying a brand new car with existing full warranty and 150 miles on the clock privately?

Meeting an unknown person in an unfamiliar location, not being able to test drive the car, handing over a large sum of money before taking possession of a car from an unknown individual with no consumer protection. You know, the basic stuff!

safer than all the SOR with companies who just let any one test drive your car and then go bust with your car on their premises, and you cannot get it back !!

I have sold couple Porsches previously privately and is not too bad an experience just need to take sensible precautions for both parties including ID checks for both parties gives you money laundering protection etc.... only meet in agreed places and make sure you take care on test drives go where you want to go not the buyer... don't et the buyer drive... bank transfers are all relatively easy to do... and yes you can get finance through number lenders for private purchases. common sense and do the buyer/seller pass the sanity checks. must admit I am thinking about give]ing private the car is fantastic but 30k in the bank is becoming quite attractive. SOR attract a fee of around 5% and you don't have the car to play with

I've been told the RS is going to be offered to 918 owners and my OPC beleive they will get 1 maybe 2!
IS it really going to happen ??

At what point will P switch to the new Gen2 chassis designed with the Turbo 4 ?

Or, might the GT4 RS have the 919 motor ??

The chap who I'm dealing with at my OPC confirmed to me it was going to happen and they would be getting one maybe two and if that was the case they will go to existing 918 owners! He didn't mention which engine, in fact I hadn't asked him about it, he said it very mater of fact while we were discussing the GT4.

Really sorry but if we are talking a GT4RS in the latest model, I can't see that happening at all. Hope to be wrong, but I think it is nothing more than salesman drivel!

Agreed the likelihood of an RS current model extremely remote.

Agreed. Although wonder what the minimum amount of changes Porsche could get away with for a last minute RS version

Engine could add 20/30 bhp with ease
Pdk and manual box available
More aero easy to achieve

Won't happen given they have now launched Cup car. Maybe in 3 years with .2 model

Harris has also spotted that a large number of GT4's have gone straight for re-sale!

His view on the matter:

https://twitter.com/harrismonkey/status/6763207352...

Also said he would investigate any wrong doing with OPC's if proof was provided!

https://twitter.com/harrismonkey/status/6763350416...

Aberdeen OPC was mentioned!

Is he miffed he didn't get a GT3RS, fallen out of love with Porsche or just genuinely annoyed at the market and with those who are being given cars not using them as intended? Does it open up a can of worms on the current Porsche marketplace and the control OPC's seem to have on the sales of these cars? Probably a storm in a tea cup but I thought it interesting that he would speak up on a subject as contentious as this where it brings him into potential conflict with Porsche group!

Harris was well looked after by Porsche and said in one car clip that he wasn't allocated an RS so I suspect he's now a disgruntled customer.
Since then Mclaren has taken care of him with a 650 on his drive for 3 months so maybe he's allegiences have changed
