Does look better. Worth noting that the upgrade will also give you 4 Dot DRLs, brighter headlights with washers and the PDSL system to turn the lights on corners. Not sure if that softens the blows. That said, on the S and below, the non black PDSL is £600. Looks like GTS owners are only offered the pricier black option to keep the blacked out colour scheme.

I don't think you get much for your £1000 - the difference is not that great (mind you, I'm not keen on the all black look anyway). Why not get LEDs instead? You really will see the difference!

I know what your all saying about the all black "Knight Rider"

But the Grey was a tad of an unlucky colour for me. Maybe I will have another look.

Mark I think the all black look is good and you should have what YOU like but have you considerd how you will keep it clean and avoid the dreaded swirl marks. I had a black ford capri many years ago and vowed never again !! Mind you, some of the paint treatments available nowadays may help on this score!

Can't help thinking that the 718 Cayman GTS looks a bit crap compared with the 981.

I've got an order in, but am pushing back my build slot to June as I don't want the car til the end of July.

Got a call from my salesman today to say that a number of GTS customers are doing the same, so he has January and February build slots available, if anyone is interested? If so, give me a shout and I can put you in contact.

June build is abit dangerous, last year they price rise in April so any car that isn’t schedule to be collect in june would be affected by the price rise.

It is what it is - I can't pick it up before then! Also with (hopefully) no more Trump / Brexit-esque economic events due to occur, they would have a harder time justifying big price rises this time round...

So you drove it back to back with a 718 without it?
I did. I drove a loan car last month with it for 600 miles. My own cayman doesnt have it, with other specs similar. I am so glad I didn't opt it. To me, having it completely spoiled the car. In terms of steer feed back, feels only marginally better than my mk 3 TT, which has minimal if any tactile feedback. Really had to imagine hard where my wheels were pointing especially if I wasnt looking ahead. Without it, with GT steering wheel, is sensational.

I’ve been told similar. Seems the rhd production starts in January. Unless anyone knows anything different. I’m supposed to be first in the list at my OPC.

On reading your post I have joined the club as I quite like the sound of that run up to Wales.

I think I am in the same boat as you with Jan/Feb. Would you not wait till March 1st and have the 18 reg?

No, I'm not interested in number plates as I have my own, and anyway I need the car for that trip. You need to hurry up though if you're thinking of staying over; I booked over a month ago.

I have joined but can't find any mention of it... Knowing me I have joined the wrong club.

I have joined "Porsche Club GB"
