I would pay £100k for that.

annoying that Porsche won't make anything like that :-(

First of all i'm naturally optimistic and have spent many years nurturing a good relationship with my OPC..They have always been upfront with me and never coerced me to buy normal cars in the promise of a special one..I'm still hopeful of getting an RS if a second batch should arise..In the event i don't get one and a VIP gets one instead who already got one in the first batch then i won't be a happy bunny.
All my friends will testify that i'm a great judge of character and have a knack of sniffing out the truth in people..I'm suspicious enough as a person not to be led up the garden path and don't suffer fools gladly.!
Secondly this practice of giving special cars to their best customers is pretty standard industry practice, which doesn't condone it, merely having to accept it.
As i said before depending on whether i get an RS or not i'm considering buying other makes of fun cars..I love the new Lotus Exige 410 Sport and will have a get a Ferrari at some point.
The fun is all in the chase as we don't exactly live in a fast car friendly country..!
Hi there, I guess the trouble we are all going to have if they do make a second batch of RS’s will be that the batch one RS customers selling back at list to facilitate a WP batch 2 car - allowing the OPC to profit far more on the second batch of RS’s than they would do if they allocated to new customers - it’s going to be though to get a second batch car via the natural process - I hope I’m wrong, but you can see the dilemma, especially as OPC’s have been starved of new order income over recent months due to the factory shutdown.

rofl In a world of £100k Lotus Exige 430 Cups (with no aircon), £100k for a GT4RS with aircon, radio, engine to die for and general all round awesomeness seems like amazing value to me.

I just need to convince my Mrs that if Porsche wont let me have one, then a 620R should be my track car (trust me that's a tall order).

Anyway are we saying that a GT4RS is definitely on its way?

Nope. There's a test mule in existence, and has been for a while, but as far as anyone knows there is no plan for a production version. The mule is just some fun for the GT department I think!

You have just crystallised my worst fears..! Unfortunately there is logic in your post and as a business, one which most OPCs will find difficult to ignore..I'll still be mighty pissed off though..!

What a great job that would be! Anyway, if it wasn't clear already, I want one.

I suspect lots of people do, but whether Porsche will make it is another matter.

Wouldn’t the world be a better place if Porsche decided to remove the limited supply of these cars.

I think so - I know BMW M removed limited production and in general the view is that this was not a good thing but I think that these cars should have appeal in their own right - not just garage queens for the wealthy. If / when I get mine, it's getting spanked around a race track as often as I can afford.

3 posts since July 2011, take what I say with a pinch of salt but a very reliable source on the M2 CSL thread mentioned the following last night:

"A work in progress Porsche 718 GT4 configurator went live accidentally in a European country with 981 GT4 pictures and colors but a 718 GT4 price.

The price on the new GT4 according to the configurator went from 89000 Euros to 108000 Euros. (Something I thought would never happen and it very well might not)"

Quite a few post about posts about this on RL also with screenshots from the Porsche Italy Configurator. Only the price is updated.. no other details are updated from the 981 GT4.

Have to say sounds expensive (£95-97K) if that turns out to be the price for a base car without options. But then again, and we say it all the time, the car does have a lot of the mindshare for under £100K - so maybe Porsche are choosing to claim all of those dollars now.
Good thing is I reckon this could put a squeeze on how high flippers can actually sell at... as there will be a ceiling to more recent GT3s.
Also good for 981 GT4 owners for those that are worried about their hedge funds instead of driving them.

The user was speccing a 911T at the time and I think it was a website glitch. The pic was of a 981 GT4 and my guess is that the price was for the 911T he was speccing.

Fake news IMHO.

Definitely a 'glitch' or some kind of unintended error on the website or someone make update or it could be a 'Porsche leak'

I’m not to sure, I guess it will depend on if they install it with the full fat 4.0 gt engine or if it’s an update on the last 3.8 gt4 engine.

I personally think we are in for a shock and Porsche will give the market place a full fat gt4 which will give the new gt3 a hell of a run for its money. Porsche don’t stand still and they continually develop their products, there’s no reason to hold back on this car and not install their latest technology. We all know the cayman chassis is more than capable.

The new gt4 is way passed test mule stage and other cars already exist in other colours which look like finished production cars to me, I’m still lead to believe that up until recently they were signing off the particular filter, if this is now signed off it wouldn’t shock me if it just appears on the Porsche configuration system.

You very rarely see a Porsche gt product on the road today, I personally feel it’s a real shame that the majority of these cars rarely get used and are bought by speculators. They have become like Ferrari’s and massively mileage sensitive, gt4 cars are around 3 years old now and a car with 16k on the clock is classed a high mileage. This mind set is only due to speculators owning them opposed to genuine car nuts.

I think the GT4 will have the marketing dept's full attention this time. I reckon a start price of at least £75k, possibly closer to £80k base.

Expecting GT4's to cost close to £100k once spec'd with all the fashionable bits such as carbon brakes.
Very possibly but at 100k I'd be buying a 991 GT3 with a Motorsport engine

I get what you are saying BUT.....

That unit was never used in Motorsport.... but the GT4 one was and still is, and the future one will be too....

GT3 engines are different beasts... and that’s great and I think they are amazing too.... but with respect to the 991.1(as they are the only 991 near 100k)...don’t ever call it a Motorsport engine and use it in arguement vs the GT4.
