Yep, looks really good that - Miami works very well on the GT4/Spyder smile
Yep I agree, works well on these cars. I did consider Miami on my 991.2 GTS but chickened out and went for Crayon. I went for Gentian on my GT4 so I’ll post some photos when it arrives

Funny how different cars suit different colours - I also had a Crayon 991.2 GTS - a really stunning looking car , however Crayon did nothing for me on a GT4/Spyder . Also I don’t think Miami looks anywhere near as good on a 911 - weird smile

Hi,

A quick question regarding the front bumper for those of you that have already taken delivery of a 718 GT4 or Spyder

Did your car arrive with two small indentations on the front bumper to mark the position of the front plinth? My car has these marks on the front.

Thanks
Yup two little indentations on my Spyder. Very annoying grrrrr
Thanks, my previous cars have not had these indents

I’m going for a stick on front number plate so am hoping won’t show

Mine had them, but stick on plate completely covers them - not an issue smile

There is a 718 Spyder which has ‘covertly’ come back on the market with an OPC which was mentioned earlier on this thread. Still not officially advertised but they have tweeted about it. I enquired and was told they are looking for circa £17,000 over list. Who says the OPC’s aren’t fully complicit in the game.
I was offered one at list by a very kind serial Porsche owner, who no longer wanted it (brand new, post a test drive). Needless to say if I took it it, it came with a no flip rule, I think he left it with the dealership taking no profit himself.

Not saying i agree or disagree with the price but why wouldn’t it be priced the same as the 718 GT4 this time around? It also sounds as though less 718 Spyders are coming to the UK then GT4s.

I guess I’ll be accused of bias, but I’d say the 718 Spyder is easily worth the same as a 718 GT4 as there will be far fewer and the move on from the 981 Spyder is much bigger than the GT4; ergo it’s much easier to get hold of a GT4 , either 981 or 718, etc - either way, I guess so what , I imagine this is a £k95 OTR car with £k15 overs - it’ll either sell or they won’t - who cares, but one things for sure, it’ll be a far cheaper way of buying one vs the GT allocation circus !

This time around, Spyder is worth at least the same as the GT4. It’s supposedly rarer also.

Although the large overs for both cars is silly considering people can still order for the next couple years and it just a question of waiting for an allocation.

Problem with the overs for these cars is that the prices run you straight into the price range of some much more serious and capable metal. So you are just gonna lose that chunk of change, and the allocation that was flipped for profit could have gone to a real owner.

I hearing from reviews there is nothing in the class that will touch these cars for less than 120k that’s how good they are!!

Both the new GT4 and Spyder have exactly the same power, torque, weight, acceleration figures and suspension ..My only concern is the quoted weight for both are 1420Kg DIn Empty.. Does this include the 75Kg Driver and luggage, if not they've put on an awful lot of blubber..Its nearly enough to put me right off them if i'm deciphering the figures correctly.
Bigger battery and starter motor to support Auto-Start Stop, Diffuser, Particulate Filters, physically larger engine make up for most of this - also they cannot get the car certified with options fitted such as PCCB or Carbon Buckets.
I’m really interested in this as the pre-WLTP measuring allowed manufacturers to get away with all sorts. I’m looking forward to some owners weighing actual 718 GT4s to see what’s what.

In theory the 1420 figure is no options at all-so sports seats, steel brakes, a radio, basic air con etc all fluids and a 90% full tank of fuel.

New, this has an element of truth.

But as discussed before, if talking nearly new or lightly used, £120k buys into some seriously worthy if heavily depreciating cars.

Just for reference here are the corner weight scales for my full spec 981GT4 with half tank of fuel, clubsport, buckets, PCCB, (and a load of silly stripes smile )

Which I thought was quite lardy! If you cannot read it the total is 1390KG.

I will get the Spyder done after the holiday season goes away and report back.

Thanks for sharing. That’s about the weight I’d expect. I think for the 981 1340 is achieved with your spec but also (I presume) no cage, no radio and no air con (was that an option?). I’m impressed it’s below 1400 to be honest.

According to AP, like for like, the 718 GT4 is ~30kgs heavier than the 981 GT4.

Regarding the cost of paying overs for a 718 Spyder or GT4’s I don’t think it’s a major argument to say you are nearly in 991 GT3 money- they just aren’t that similar in terms of what they offer. Firstly- a Spyder is a convertible and a GT3 ain’t! Also the luggage space and compact useable nature of a GT4 means it’s more convenient for long haul Euro road trips than a GT3 club sport.
I’d be more than happy driving to Southern Europe in a Spyder or GT4 but less so in a GT3

I agree, they're different propositions.

The new mid-engine 4.0 is unproven, but in theory it should be a solid engine and it comes with an optional manual gearbox. Plus it's a brand new car, built to your spec if you get an allocation for around £90k if you're sensible with options.

The 991 GT3 is around 6 years old now and the 3.8 has known engine shortcomings. It's also PDK only and costs circa £100k.

The 991.1 GT3 only has the 911 badge keeping its values high IMHO, it should be much cheaper by now. Can you imagine the slating it would be getting if it was a Cayman?
