Then why would you buy a GT4 RS, to do road car speeds, and never experience what it can actually do?
Because I can, and with respect, what's it got to do with you to criticize my purchase, I've also got a Macan S daily on order, I hope you don't mind?......smile

For christ sake don't look at my garage pic, you won't approve

Just one convertible in the pack. A nice sunny day driving around Wales and the best car happens to be the one that suits the weather! What a farce of a review.

Total wrong end of stick

Anyone can do what they want, no issues with personal choice

But, equally, I’m able to classify it as a waste of a good car

YMMV

Oh god, I can't resist.. Just what is your all knowing criteria for 'waste of a good car'? I drive my GT3 really slowly, often into London, and I'm a snail on track.. do I qualify? Hope so. Maybe one day you'll work hard enough to buy something similar then the jealous comments might annoy you too.

(I'll probably delete this in a few minutes, but got it off my chest)

Thank you, Rob, good to know I'm not alone in not being b*lls out every time I get behind the wheel.

Really great review of the GT4 RS Review vs 718 GT4 by MaxRevs.
Great to see Porsche recognising a YouTuber other than the usual suspects....and all the more worthy seeing as he owns a GT4 and speaks from experience.

Yep, you’ve wasted a car

I assume you dont realise I own a GT car, and would happily buy an RS and add the MR kit, if only I could get one …

Now for the banter trail…

Incidentally hard work isn’t correlated with income

You didn’t pick your genes, your hormones, your parents, or your education, or to be born into the western world. Nothing about you that you can control determines your hormonal response to intrinsic or extrinsic factors

So whether you do or don’t work hard, it’s nowt to do with you, as you don’t choose how your synapses fire

Now you’ve had the realisation you’re nothing but a bunch of reactions firing that you can’t control, don’t let that ruin your commute into central … at a snails pace. At least you’re in a totally unsuitable car for the job

By your own reckoning, if you worked harder you could get someone to drive you in and then save the GT3 for poodling round tracks at the weekends?

Believe me … not jealous of the lifestyle you’ve just depicted there. I can only hope you don’t have a mortgage or any debt too, cuz that just means more days travelling into big smoke for you, in a car wholly unsuited to the job….

Chill out eh. It’s just an opinion, and one I’m yet to really see anyone counter with anything other than a strawman

When everyone’s response to, “what car?” Is simply, “the rarest one” then at least the comments would be consistent

Sorry, I’m the bellend for not being jealous of someone who thinks owning a car is associated with hard work, and they drive it to London?

Righto

No its because your comments are utter rubbish. You've been told no by Porsche quite clearly, you seem slightly upset. Maybe the person who's bought the "one" you "should" have had isn't going to use it like you would. Is that what the problem is and your just not saying that?

Your last post is quite funny to be honest. Putting that on a car forum is beyond me. Not one person agrees with what you have to say on any of the so called opinion posts that you have put on. GT cars are actually one of the few Track day cars that id consider to daily then track on the weekend. Luckily I use mine how I want likewise to everyone else on here.

Anyone daft enough to post on the internet how they use a 196mph car to it's limits, as intended etc. is, well, daft. (And insecure).

Want to prove what a hero you are?, then race something other than a keyboard.

Again, literally the opposite of what was said. Argue the point that was made, not one you've dreamt up.

Everyone without exception who wants to be good at something has to go through the process of being bad at it first of all.
^This.

Everyone pays the same fee for their track day. Everyone is entitled a bit of space on the tarmac and some patience and forbearance. Some give and take, in both directions, makes things safer and simpler.

It's not a race.
To want to improve it's important to appreciate your skills (or relative lack of) now, and to enjoy what you are doing and aspire to be better with a very open mind as to how this can best be achieved. For those who have become better ( a relative term) it is (could be) rather enjoyable buddying with somebody who appreciates the sharing of experience ... the lines / the pace / the dealing with slower cars and faster cars ... and the camaraderie there is in enjoying our driving machines and keeping them running well.

The problem of "fast" is the exponential increase in consumable costs ... and fast isn't necessarily more fun. I remember very fondly the 964RS and 968CS fraternities who had bought cars relatively cheaply, cars that were built to take a lot of hard use with little more than routine servicing and at very modest specialist cost ... many of whom are now GT4 owners ... happy times smile

Yes, I've seen you and TDT take it in turns to pull the invisible, 2ft tow rope around Silverstone GP. hehe

Agreed. One of the really great joys of a track day is to drive with friends (you trust) be that pax or following one another. Also a great way to learn.
