It's not a money issue, just scared of ruining it
I think you'd be mad to sell it! Prices aren't going down very fast and you could even end up paying more for a similar spec'd car when the time comes to re buy.If you are worried about 'ruining it' buy a cheap daily. Keep the R and enjoy it at weekends and on non work related trips. Sod the warranty and get the exhaust system! You'll never regret it.

On topic, if (hypothetically) you said to your OPC 'fit some N-rated tyres then', will they then let you extend the warranty?
Yes, I think so as it was the only thing they mentioned. Funny though, they didn't offer this up as an option, not that I would have gone for it (the tyres do have plenty of tread left though)V800MJH said:

This is where my thinking is at too. The only real issue with getting another car is that we'd have 4 between the 2 of us then (I also have an Elise, the OH has a Mini) and during the build we'll be in rented accommodation and probably won't have the parking space
Nought wrong with that. I keep my R in the garage and use it at weekends. Sits next to my XR2 that gets used rarely at the moment until its repaired.
I have a £500 mondeo that I run to the station every day, used for shopping and tip runs etc, my other half has an MX-5 which I occasionaly steal if I want a slightly more fun trip to the station that day.
Admiral multi policy saved me a huge amount of money on the insurance and my R stays nice and un-molested.
So a 4 car household is fine IMO

I didn't realise a set of tyres could have such a devastating effect on an engine ![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
Tell that to the people on that French Concorde. ![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
But seriously, keep the car and buy a snotter for a year. It'll be like a sorbet to clear the palate and will make the R feel even more special when you go back to it.

I can't believe you guys don't use the R every day. I'm up to 30k miles ![driving](/inc/images/driving.gif)
If I could drive it everyday and leave it somewhere it wouldn't be abused by morons then I would, station car parks are not great for keeping your car in decent order. ![driving](/inc/images/driving.gif)
I' did it with my last Cayman and after 18months it was peppered with dents and scratches.

You flash b@stard! My daily Mondeo was only £200 while the 'R' sits in the garage waiting for nice weather and weekends. ![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
