Loving the look of the new Cayman GTS, subtle differences but they add up to a big difference in my opinion.

I agree the GTS interior could be considered a must but it's a lot of money. in my opinion, it does make the car but would bot be a disaster without it and certainly not put me off buying one if it didn't have it.

You are paying a lot of money for a dream car for most people and you have to spec it how you want regardless of what others say. So long as it puts a smile on your face every time you get in it - then it was the right spec

I placed my S order in Feb with always the intention to switch to GTS on arrival

I am pretty confident I will be somewhere up near the front of the line.

I’m a bit gutted you have to pay extra for the GTS interior, GTS car should come with a GTS interior in my mind.

Press are saying first cars in December but do we wait until January if given the choice?

Hard call, I have a car coming in Nov and just can't wait another day but if it is any later, I would be inclined to wait although I suspect the dealer will push for a Dec delivery for their figures.

Interesting that a lot of the launch 911 GTS were in Lava orange and was also at a few car shows but the Cayman and Boxter GTS are all Carmine red so far

Possibly a strange request, but do you think Porsche would allow you to change the red GTS in the headrest to black - or even better the embossed Porsche logo?

I’m wanting Graphite blue and I think the red GTS may clash, but I like the red stitching etc
It would cost a fortune....might be amusing to find out how much ! Certainly over £1000

Think I’ve missed a trick here. I can get the GTS in Black if untick the GTS Interior Package, and instead separately select Alcantara® Package GTS with black smooth-finish leather, and carbon separately.

Is it only the red dial id then lose? Or have I misunderstood what the GTS Package is?

So the Alcantara is standard on th GTS, and the optional GTS interior pack just gives you red stitching, carbon trim and red dial? Is that it?

i attended the Frankfurt motor show with a friend and we arranged a consultation with the Porsche Exclusive team re his Cayman GTS. My friend wanted a customised interior comprising some leather colours which are available on Macan but not Cayman and what I can best describe as non deviating stItching. The cost was quoted as 15000 euro ! So yes you can have whatever you like But be prepared to pay! Confusingly it was also stated that the cost would be less on a Boxster. The reason given was that all Boxsters are produced at Stuttgart whereas Cayman produced at both Stuttgart and Osnabruck. Hence able to offer greater customisation at Stuttgart ! No, I don' t understand the logic either !!

For those of you who are thinking about if you should pay extra for PDLS you can see this Night time POV video review and i think the standard isn't bad at all. Coincidentally my SLK which just ran out of warranty that has the ILS system is broken...

ALan, GTECH and PPF offer different things. Gtech will protect against airborne contamination (bird sxxx and tree sap) and to a certain degree, light surface scratching but it will not protect against stone chips. PPF Will against both chips and contamination but it is expensive to apply to the whole car. As my car is garaged and is not used daily, I am primarily concerned with stone chips so will be having PPF applied to vulnerable areas such as front bumper, wing mirror housings and rear wheel arches. I did this on my current car and it proved very successful.
I found this company with a competitive pricing, i've yet to ask for a proper quote but i'm hoping to pay small car price of £1850 for the full car.

Maybe we can get a group buy if there is enough people interested?

The configurator shows upper leather dash, is that only a certain section? Here’s the screenshot ...

Annoyingly there’s no description for the GTS Inteior Package when you click (i)

The interior that comes with the car is a fake or course grain leather (can't remember which one it is) with alcantra on the seat centres etc. If you opt for the alcantra package, this changes the fake to real soft grain leather and puts leather bits all around the cabin (and GTS lettering in black). If you then opt for the additional GTS package, it adds contrasting stitching, red or white dial and carbon trim

That’s great thanks. So if i option the carbon it just loses the contrast stitching pretty much - and ill saves £££ (Which I’ll flip for electric seats)

Morning,

I am toying with the idea of a Porsche Cayman GTS.

I have been playing on the Porsche Configurator the last 24 hours and have come up with this.

Can anyone see anything obvious I am missing or some items to be deleted for some cost savings?

Smokers pack (not for smoking, it finishes the centre console instead of having a hole

Some things I'd happily delete:
Light design package (have it on my Cayman S but we bought used)
Aluminium look filler cap
Alcantara visors
Carbon sills (won't they get sratched/scuffed?)
Aluminium pedals
Add:
Front park assist would be handy for parking up to a wall/kerb with the low nose

I added the Alcantara Visors as I guessed this would match the roof headlining, also that the Carbon Sills would add to excitement of getting in and out the vehicle and match the GTS interior.

The other items are small trinkets and on reflection could be easily deleted.

In regards front park assist I only ever reverse park so for me this would be a waste of money.

Has anyone seen a picture of the Rear Spoiler in High gloss?
