Buyers will have no clue who Sid is.

It’s not sold as it’s got comfort seats :-)

The GT4 has not dropped with covid but unlike GT3 which have just about all sold, we have 40 odd GT4 for sale now.
They really need to start with a 5 over 10k miles now for private sales.
Makes you wonder when the prices will drop with so many unsold cars for sale. Seems odd dealers like holding onto them and it’s mid summer.

I am not entirely sure if I agree with this, I knew who he was before I bought my car and quite a few people who follow these threads know who he is. Admittedly he is not exactly a celebrity but he has been mentioned in a few different threads.

If his car is for sale for over £70k then it probably won't be selling anytime soon.

I agree that GT4 prices have seen a Covid correction, however I can't see many good spec cars going into the 50's for a while. It is possible however if that happens everything below it will have to shift down by 20% as well.

To be honest if that happens that is good for me as there will likely be a bigger drop in GT3 prices and it will cost less to move up.

Covid has not dropped GT4 that’s my point, I sold a 2 year old one back in 17 for £70k, now we have over supply, GT3 have sold as demand is there so why would they drop a bigger ammount with a strong demand.

We have 40 odd GT4 for sale some things going to have to give, they are NOT selling at these prices, £70k for a private sale on cars now close to 5 years old is a joke.
Summers short this year, many will right 2020 off, GT4 have to drop another 10k the markets stagnated on the model.
And people don’t buy in the last 3 months of the year these sort of cars.
718 not selling at all and Oder books open on new cars again, I think PDK sales will really take off as the cars crying out for shorter ratio's.

Those photos appear to have been taken at the old Belfast OPC garage too. So the things basically been driven to the owners place after that and mothballed. Wonder if he drained the fluids too!

Interesting point of view however unfortunately I don't agree with you and stand by what I said before.

By all means flag this post in the future to me when you see a club sport GT4 with less than 15k miles selling at something under £60k. We can then have a look to see where 991.2 GT3 manuals are and see whether they have dropped off by a larger amount.

As a point of reference we can use this car at £125,000

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10530687?u...

It will be an interesting post to look back at next year.

Just to be clear I am not saying that GT4's won't go sub £60k, I am simply saying that if they do everything else will drop as well and in this case I think I will be able to get a manual 991.2 GT3 at a bigger saving.

PDK GT3 prices will keep dropping , manuals less so and the gap will grow between the two gearboxes like is has on all other driver focused car, 997 GTS, Cayman R, 987 Spyders now all see massive price gap from manual to PDK.

You will see £59k GT4,s with buckets by Xmas imo
CS well it was a lol option that fake cage so very little take up and buyers don’t really care either way as long as it has buckets.

If GT4 drop it makes no odds on any other cars model as demand has fallen right off on the 981 car due to the 718 Order books being open. Prices will drop as there are too many cars that’s how it works. It’s always supply and demand.

What might happen is 718 GT4 dropping £20k from today’s daft overs within 12 months, when that happens then the 981 will also have the drop.

Remember GT3 are under list now, but a high spec ones sell in days, top555 lasted a couple.

Thanks for your thoughts but I am afraid you are not going to get me to agree with you. As I said when you see a GT4 CS with under 15k miles for sub £60k let me know and we will have a look at where 991.2 GT3 manual prices are.

The more you try and make your point the more I reflect on what you have said and can't agree.

This is the great thing about forum posts, you get lots of different points of view and I am afraid mine differs from yours.

Anyway I am now going out for a drive in my GT4 in the sunshine and am going enjoy blasting around some country lanes. If I were you I would go out in your car do the same.

As ever, there is one burk on here pushing his own addenda. Talking down the model he has sold and talking up the model he has and empathising that his preferred spec will do better than other. Nonsense, yarn yarn.

It is David's right to do so ... but I agree interesting to see the logic adjust according to the car. To an extent we all like to convince ourselves that historical choices have turned out for the best, in reality it's all a bit of a lottery.

As an example, at purchase new did anybody seriously expect their future almost five year old 918 GT4 to be worth any more than £50k ?

I personally would prefer a PDK GT4 --- not just because of the more closely stacked ratios ... but still the GT3 which is even more a track car than the GT4 appears to hold it's value better as a manual ??

Maybe it's the gravity of the Touring option (which is a shadow of the ultra desirable R).

When values collapse .... smile ?

The GT3 is under list and selling, the 718 is over list and not selling, that’s the market atm.

Comfort GT4 are less valuable than bucket seated cars.

Nothing to do with talking down cars or what people own.
It’s about market values and demand, that simple.

Why does someone buy a lovely car like this and leave it in a garage? It doesn’t make any sense at all. When you deduct service costs, insurance etc they haven’t made a dime particularly if you look at the opportunity cost of investing the cash instead.

Is it just to open the garage door and look occasionally? Beyond me.

Maybe purchased to flip it but got caught out. Maybe purchased to enable another purchase further down the line , say an RS and has already agreed with the OPC a buy back arrangement ??

Who knows but paying overs for these is long gone.....

I notice that the Sytner silver car which was at £107k seems to have gone.

I'm waiting for the PDK version.

How about diagnosed with cancer, buys car as a treat to look forward to on recovery but sadly doesn’t make it? Orders car, dies before delivery, family takes delivery and cannot bring themselves to sell it.
Emotion the human condition, not ours to question why.

I see a GT4 CS with a red roll cage. Was this a factory option to have the cage red?

17 for sale currently and only. one has the leather steering wheel column encased in leather?!. I just don't get it? It is total madness. Why don't people option this for a few hundred quid? I can only assume people just don't read up on every option in the configurator. OPD's go on about 'You need the smoker package to cover up the hole' and say it like they have discovered plutonium, and thats about all they bring to the party as advice.

I didn't spec it on my GTS because there's lots of plastic around there anyway - stalks, instrument binnacle etc - so even if you spec it you're still looking at plastic in front of you, it's not like it makes a huge difference (unlike the dashboard).

I didn't spec it on my GT4 and I ticked most boxes, it just seemed a bit of a waste of money and I had it on my BGTS so I knew what I was missing. I don't think I should have had it and am happy with my car. Guess it wouldn't do for us all to be the same.

I would honesty never notice it. Like leather sun visors, or whatever, wouldn’t particularly improve the car for my purposes.

Because the stitching reflects in the dash, pretty nasty option imo noob mistake to add it.
