I understand the engagement provided by the best manual box evah that is in the CGTS, but gents pdk is soo fast, gear changes sound like gun shots.

It was OK, esp once I got the sport design wheel fitted. Did like to drop to 6th at the slightest provocation which was a bit annoying. Biggest issue for me was the digital nature of it, I play too many PC racing sims to want the same feeling in my real car!

Back from a blast.

Really, at the moment the only big unsatisfying thing is the noise when travelling in countryside roads. You can hear every little stone hitting the underbody and wheel arches

Is it normal? When I test drove the S I didn't notice it.

It's weird for a Porsche, I can understand this saves weight (no NVH pads), but that noise make me crazy.

Wholly agree. Never noticed it when test driving the Boxster S but in the BGTS it sounds like gravel being thrown up into a metal mudguard. Very unsettling noise!

What's everyones thoughts on the Sport Bucket Seat option?

How are they on long journies?
Supportive enough on a spirited drive?
How resistant are they to wear from getting in and out?

I feel they look fantastic and felt comfy for the quick seat I had in them in the showroom, but are they suitable for every day?

My S is just the same, though not nearly as bad as the previous GT3 and I won't mention the Exige, you could almost feel the stones on the back of your legs!

Got it and love it so far (400 miles).
Now I am used to get in and out, latter still tough sometimes. Cannot tell about wearing, they seems brand new for now.

For me they are a kind of massage seats, I feel my body kept fixed in a confortable shell.
My longest journey last week, 2 hrs and I didn't want to get out, they fits superbly.

Joined the forum way back in 2005 and this is my first post. Reading a hell of a lot on loads of cars and finally took the plunge on the Boxster GTS.

Had a 944 Turbo back in 93 then had kids.....

Now they are gone and settled with partners this will be arriving end April/May. As a previous poster and many more have said. Cant Wait!!!

Sorry its not a Cayman but there was another half involved in the choice of car. smile

If they're like my 7GT3 buckets and the car is a DD, I wouldn't spec them. They're comfortable enough for an hour or 2, but after a while I do miss the extra compliance and adjustability of a regular seat

Not tried them, but no height adjust I believe. Might be an issue if you or your other half are vertically challenged.

Wonder how competitors are performing in terms of noise from gravel.
Is 991 the same?

I've not noticed gravel noise with my BGTS but then again the hood is always down anyway, plenty of noise to mask it smile

What's the split of manual v PDK on the GTS?

Are most going manual or has PDK won the day?
Judging by the list of BGTS and CGTS for sale on the Porsche website, about 75-80% are PDK cars.

I am looking to get a Boxster GTS to replace my current 981 Boxster S PDK and am tempted by a manual, but just not sure.

Drove a manual 981 Cayman S a while back and didn't prefer it to my PDK - but just drove a manual Boxster GTS demonstrator and loved it. It was a very slick and a joy to use.

I would never get a PDK purely for convenience/laziness or for slightly better 0-60 - only because it is fun and better, with added convenience of auto mode. Not experienced a GTS with PDK but I bet the downshift blips sound amazing with the sports exhaust.

Advice?

I just had a couple of days with a Boxster GTS demonstrator fitted with Sports Bucket Seats. They look great, save weight and are fabulously supportive. I found that once I got used to the fixed position (no adjustment for height or angle of seat back) which was very different to how I sit in my own Boxster, they were comfortable. I am slim and pretty agile but they are a real pain to get in and out of.

I would spec the Sports Buckets Seats on a car that I was using a few times a week, but not on a daily driver.
