Just had an email from one of the dealers to say current lead time on a GTS would be 9 months which suggests they haven't stopped building them.
So based on this, what is the general consensus 1. Are people happy to wait 9months? (scary to think mine took more like 9weeks last year)
2. Everyone is migrating to the GT4 list (or trying too via LOI etc and hoping)
3. Preparing to pay a premium in the next 6months if a seller was to offer up a GTS nearly new etc?
4. Happy to sit without any of the above and wait another 12 months for a gen 2 / look at other Caymans eg R S etc

Nine months wait suits me. Planning to place my order in next couple of weeks. PF1L5RB1 Final spec this time after so many changes. Although thinking do I hold off to Oct / Nov and pick up a high spec'd nearly new. Will be glad to get back to a Cayman.1. Are people happy to wait 9months? 9 months does sound like a pause though? Maybe, as suggested, to knock out some GT4s.... DC20 said:

You won't be disappointed the CGTS is rather special! I'm addicted to sport plus, just for the PSE note
I can't wait! Loved the CS I had before and regretted selling it ever since. Think I have read every post on this thread in anticipation of getting my hands on the the CGTS. Day at Silverstone nailed it for me. And that PSE just puts a grin on your face.newbieninja said:
I tried not to watch the GT4 video on Evo. I tried.
But I succumbed.
And as expected, now I REALLY want one. Have emailed my dealer... oh no!
On the plus side, anyone not wanting to wait 9 months for a well-specced GTS might want to get in touch...
If you want send me a PM if spec is close to what I am looking and if it meets in with your timescales with the GT4.But I succumbed.

Excellent value for money track focused car, very impressed how many changes they've managed to include in the pack.
Honestly, GTS is enough for me, as it's a partial daily driver.
Finally, not sure if I am happy with manual. PDK is soooo fast.
By the way, some comments vs GTS:
- Different rear light (no clear lenses)
- No specific coloured rev counter but orange rev dials
- Different side markers?
- Mesh grilles on front bumper
- Different headlamps?
- Different muffler and exhaust tailpipes?
- Different rear bumper valance

Now the GT4 is out with 385bhp, I can't help but think that the 340bhp GTS is the biggest kick in the teeth that Porsche could have delivered to buyers of the 325bhp S model imaginable?
Way to go Porsche, possibly destroying S residuals overnight - I suppose time will tell?
You may be right but I think (hope) you are being unduly pessimistic. Assuming the turbo 4s are out soon I think it will help the residuals of all the 6s. And sure the GTS will benefit more than the S, but given the limited numbers of GTS's (assuming it will be a 4 too), I think it will benefit the GTS rather than harm the S. But all that is speculation. Way to go Porsche, possibly destroying S residuals overnight - I suppose time will tell?
I don't think the GT4 really affects the picture - it's going to remain a niche market car since it is too low to be a DD and (for the moment) doesn't have PDK as an option. That rear wing will put off those who don't want to look like boy racers too.
