Now the GT4 is out with 385bhp, I can't help but think that the 340bhp GTS is the biggest kick in the teeth that Porsche could have delivered to buyers of the 325bhp S model imaginable?
Way to go Porsche, possibly destroying S residuals overnight - I suppose time will tell?
You may be right but I think (hope) you are being unduly pessimistic. Assuming the turbo 4s are out soon I think it will help the residuals of all the 6s. And sure the GTS will benefit more than the S, but given the limited numbers of GTS's (assuming it will be a 4 too), I think it will benefit the GTS rather than harm the S. But all that is speculation. Way to go Porsche, possibly destroying S residuals overnight - I suppose time will tell?
I don't think the GT4 really affects the picture - it's going to remain a niche market car since it is too low to be a DD and (for the moment) doesn't have PDK as an option. That rear wing will put off those who don't want to look like boy racers too.
The 981 S may be in a bit of no mans land now between the 2.7 and the GTS as a brand new buy.
GT3 don't really affect the values of other cars in the 911 range. Its like London property prices vs the rest of the UK. Not everyone wants to live in London!!

Managed to get some sleep!
2 hours to go and the weather is looking stunning!
I got quite emotional when I uncovered mine at the dealers, though maybe that was more reflective of how long I had waited for it beyond the due date 2 hours to go and the weather is looking stunning!
I DO like that us guys can get so excited about a new car, much like Xmas Eve when young, not sleeping...
Have great fun and miss any ice!!!

Starting to wish I had specced the X73 instead of PASM as in 6k miles, I have switched to Sports suspension mode about twice and it does look better lower.
Accepting that prefer the lower look of SS, if you don't use Sports mode, are you saying you prefer the ride/handling balance in Normal. If so would you be happy with the ride/handling balance of SS?Good god it's good
I can see why people who have just picked them up go into hiding!
X73 is a must

Yes, I have had 3 PASM cars now, an '04 C2S, an '07 GT3 and now a CS. I haven't really used the Sports setting in any of them, the GT3 being particularly harsh. I haven't driven the X73, but suspect that it would be akin to a CR (which I have driven) and found that to be ok?

Interesting. I really like the PASM - definitely the best ride/handling balance of the CSs I tried. I rather like the Sport setting too - initially feels decidedly stiffer, but softens off nicely when the road is bumpy. Improves the steering feel too. It's that adaptive nature in each setting that I like not just the fact that there are two settings. I'd say on 19" rims in Sport the ride is similar to 20" rims with the standard suspension. Haven't tried SS so can't comment. Only other car I've tried PASM on was 991 S Cab - which was much stiffer - at least as stiff as Sport on the CS.Not sure what the cost of PASM was, but I'm sure it was a waste of money, although I don't recall if the X73 was available for the Cayman in Q3 2013?
Being really a Lotus/Caterham man at heart, I'm not a great believer on stiff suspension - at least on the road.
But there are a wide variation of views on the forum, and I suspect I'm in a minority on this one. I notice, however, Porsche spec it as standard on the GT4 as well as the GTS so either Porsche have misjudged the UK market or this forum is not that representative of typical buyers.
