I like the options PASM brings to the party. Admittedly sport setting on the 997 GT3 only gets used on track and is useless for the road but that's fine and how it should be used IMO. I've driven two Cayman GTSs, one with SS and one with PASM. The SS felt perfectly reasonable and comfy on the road despite being firm. The PASM car ride very well in normal mode and stiffened up nicely but not excessively in sport mode. I don't think there's a bad choice here to be honest. I'm plumping for PASM on my BGTS simply because I like having a choice - there will be days where I just want to waft around in complete comfort with PDK in auto mode, and PASM will let me do that while not hindering me in any meaningful way when I want to "get on it" in sport mode on a country road or track day.
I must admit to preferring PASM. I like the dual character of comfort and then sport when pressing on down a challenging twisty road. We omitted it on a 987/2 Cayman S and very much regretted it. The tide was far too hard for SWMBO and we sold that car very quickly. I'd always have it in preference to a purely sport set up.

Jeez!! I thought my paltry 10 week wait was bad....
One hell of a spec though, so congrats on that.

Took ages deciding on spec after Silverstone experience day. My Evoque is going back in November so fits in perfect. And OPC have said if there is any delay they will give me one of their cars. Can't ask for more. Going to be a daily driver so wanted all the toys

Now the research begins on best cleaning/protection products to keep it in perfect condition. What is everyone else using for snow foam and protection?
Is paying for the Swiss wax protection worth it?
I would say no - don't pay for Swiss Wax or whatever from the dealership. Instead take that money and get a proper new car protection detail from a proper outfit. I took mine to KDS Detailing - guys did a great job for me. I also had the G Techniq Crystal Serum added. Is paying for the Swiss wax protection worth it?
It came back looking like this...
Some people have a clear wrap put on the front if their cars.
Other than that I've recently purchased some more microfibres, new wheel woolies, new wash mitt and large drying towel.
I do use snow foam every now and again - some think its a waste of time and money and they are entitled to their opinion, just like i am to mine. I just need to get some new wheel cleaner and done.

Agree with the above, had the Crystal Serum on my Vantage and was very impressed.
For a Wheel cleaner give Wolfs Decon Gel a try, each time I use it I dilute it a bit further, down to 1:3 and still does a great job.

Is that GT Silver?
Lambs wool mitt, 2 bucket method with grit guards all sorted. Was quoted 590 for the swisswax treatment!
Clear wraps are excellent. I Had the bonnet and front bumper wrapped in clear ventureshield from new, then had the whole car detailed with GTechniq. It forms a hard barrier on the paintwork - much better than traditional waxes.
As above Kelly at KDS. Is probably at the top of the game, but will cost a fair bit.
For other detailers you can always check to see who is approved on the GTechniq website. (Dave at DDB did mine as I lived in Newcastle at the time - he does a lot of work for the Porsche dealer nearby).
Don't waste your money on dealer sealants etc, they're not as good just a profit booster for the dealers really.

No authorised detailers in Edinburgh area, but found a G Techniq detailer in Glasgow (Incredible Detail). Sound advice not going through the dealership, thinking the clear wrap on the front sounds like a good idea too. Plan on keeping it for a few years so want to ensure its protected from day one.
Will be contacting them closer to arrival.

I despise that shiny tyre stuff with a passion.
I don't ever use it myself - i usually wash the tyre sidewall to clean it and if i do use a product on the wall it's the smallest amount. Else it just splatters every where. The KDS guys used a gel product on my tyres I think - was part of the programme. The wheel cleaner I'm looking at is for the alloy wheel. Lifts ferrous contaminate from the rim.

As above I would recommend Wolfs Decon gel, very effective but not acidic. Spray on at the beginning of your clean and allow to dry then just pressure wash off. As with most products if the alloys have a coat of polish/ sealant on them it is even better. The wheel cleaner I'm looking at is for the alloy wheel. Lifts ferrous contaminate from the rim.
