...but you could be in a GR86 tomorrow if you were that desperate for one.

Well, I have a GR Yaris, and the GT4RS is coming next spring (if no production delay)
The GRY is my daily driver, and I love the thing, it feels very composed, traction all over, nimble, agile, although it does feel very massive. It`s astounding if you look at corner speeds the car is capable of, very impressive.
Now waiting on the weekend warrior :-)

So I can't find a dealership that will sell me a GT4RS, so I've had to order 2 cars to meet my motoring needs (both coming next year). One of them has just either actually sold for a crazy price or the dealership has been asked to take it down. If crazy price is real, I'm going to have to let it go and maybe get a 718 GT4 with some Manthey upgrades?
Its a good move and one I am considering. Unlikely now to get a GT4RS so probably going to get a PDK new ish GT4 and throw the Manthey kit at it to make it a GT4 MRI just need to have a go in their demo before going down that road unless the bottom drop out of the cost of an RS in the meantine
That’s basically what I did albeit with a manual, very capable weapon until something else arrives or tickles the fancy.
I went manual because unfortunately PDK in the 718 GT4 isn’t massively shorter ratios and isn’t like the PDK-S in GT3(RS) and definitely not like the 4RS. Those cars also the engine with monster revs to rip through the gears… 718 GT4 less so. So preferred to keep the involvement high for road and track. So keeps option open for custom gears down the line IF I ever wanted to… unlikely tbh.

very nice ! Looks like RPM ? I heard Ollie from RPM on a Podcast....he said the MR suspension is actually slightly better on road than normal suspension although this was in reference to a GT3. There was no Manthey route when I started ... in fact I lobbied heavily for these modifications a couple of years ago when at the time there was nobody in the UK offering it ... maybe the passenger ride worked (or maybe it was something else !!)
Great to see and it will be very interesting to compare my generic route ... Porsche Motorsport / Manthey / KW 3-way / ST / RPM Technik ... I did ask if I could supplement the GT4 annotation with MR and was at the time told that to do so I would have to remove the ST discs. Since RPM Technik now promote and fit these, I'll have to ask again

Nice Car TDT! How do you find it? I have a great plate for a GT4 with Manthey Racing upgrade too!I went manual because unfortunately PDK in the 718 GT4 isn’t massively shorter ratios and isn’t like the PDK-S in GT3(RS) and definitely not like the 4RS. Thanks very much. Build was done by JZM and their partnership. Ref road manners... It is pretty good on most roads once up to speed. OEM floatiness is gone.
It is not crashy, or brittle… very sophisticated, but is busy at low speed and it doesn’t like broken surfaces… certainly with my current set up (which is lower than default for mainly circuit), but is better with default N’ring ride heights, which I have run before on the 981… so I’ve got a bit of tweaking to do, find the right balance again.
It’s easy enough to tune to your taste as the damper controls are nicely accessible for H/L compression on the remote reservoirs.
I would say… if you aren’t going to a lot of trackdays… no need to go down this route.
The kit obviously shines on track. Standard car can feel sloppy and wild, even in firm PASM mode…. all of that is eliminated.
I did run the dampers before on my 981 so familiar with them.
Didn’t get to do many days on track as the car change to 718 was late in the season. So looking forward to 2023

Cheers and thanks for the pics ...... quick question re the PCCB`s. I am assuming you had them fitted on the base car due to the yellow callipers. Did they replace the discs or pads ? or just leave as standard ? I think Surface Transforms have a place in the market now ??? Ref road manners... It is pretty good on most roads once up to speed. MR brake upgrade is pads and lines.
I am swapping out OEM PCCB rotors for ST and pads for Pagid RSC1, but I have upgraded MR lines.
ChrisW. said:
T. You have or have not updated the MR brake lines ?
As far as I know mine are still unbraided ... standard Porsche ... ??
I haven't noticed a problem with brake softness ....
Hey Chris, Yes, upgraded to braided lines also, was part of the kit. As far as I know mine are still unbraided ... standard Porsche ... ??
I haven't noticed a problem with brake softness ....
Sorry if it wasn’t clear in the previous post.
