We have the race car in Jan.
Road car will more than likely debut @ Geneva as a MY2020 car, marketed as based on the race car, developed sided by side etc.
No rocket science required here.
I don’t know about the Cayman, but my OPC showed me the build slots for the Boxster Spyder in June and July next year. Surely too early for a MY20?Road car will more than likely debut @ Geneva as a MY2020 car, marketed as based on the race car, developed sided by side etc.

Just like the 991.2GT3 RS is a MY2019… some of these are nearly a year old already.
Model years use to run from September prior to the model year but for many years now they have run from about June for some models ie my 987 spyder was the last to be built in early June 2011 yet was one of the few that carried a 2012 MY letter 'C' identification.
If June slots are available for the UK market then a release must be imminent because usually other markets start receiving their cars months before UK

Agreed. Spec lockdown would be around end Feb for June delivery. If June slots are available for the UK market then a release must be imminent because usually other markets start receiving their cars months before UK

Ahh ok. Sorry should have said, I’m Swiss based, so not a UK OPC. If June slots are available for the UK market then a release must be imminent because usually other markets start receiving their cars months before UK
I got the call early November and the expectation then was that there would be an announcement this year and the configurator would open before new year. I’m thinking this is unlikely now.

So the UK won't receive cars until September then so I retract what I said earlier about news being imminent it will most likely be Geneva or later. Last time round the Gt4 was Geneva and the spyder was later in March/April I got the call early November and the expectation then was that there would be an announcement this year and the configurator would open before new year. I’m thinking this is unlikely now.

Only schedule that Porsche has indicated toward is for the race car. Which we know will be shown on 3rd Jan.
No schedule for the road car… so it can’t be late.
All the rumour mill suggested a MY2020 car, right from the start. Maybe it’s correct. We just have to take it when it comes.

By late, I mean the race car would have done an entire season of racing before the road car arrives.
I don't see that happening personally, but time will tell I guess!
Track orientated car and a convertible in time for winter like last time, sounds about right to me .............I don't see that happening personally, but time will tell I guess!

I’m still guessing Geneva , it’s looked ready for moths and at some point they will get over the filter regs challenge - I bet it was ready for LA but they didn’t want to cloud the 911 launch. Romo said:
Email from my OPC (Netherlands; Porsche Centrum Twente) with the 2019 agenda;
March 13; Introduction 911-992
Sept (no specific date yet); Introduction 718GT4 / Spyder
That means probably no sooner than 2020 driving IMO
FWIW
Since the 992 has already been introduced, your dealer must mean deliveries when they say introduced. Still september is late with Geneva reveal. I'd expect cars in may. We may know better on January 3.

^On 2nd thought; that could be possible
911-992 World presentation Nov 2018
1st deliveries in the Netherlands to be expected end of the 1st quarter 2019, so in line with a March 13 dealer presentation 911-992
Maybe this timeline is followed for the 718GT4/Spyder, so delivery 3th/4th quarter 2019 could be.
Time will tell :-)
Geneva wil tell us the specs and if PDK will be optional, that is all I want to know.

Be a great car if it gets the 4.0 and a pdk box 👍

My OPC in Switzerland showed me the Spyder build slots they have in June and July next year back in November. However, he also thought the configurator would be live by the end of the year. I haven‘t had an update from him since. I‘ll be calling in in the New Year to see if anything has changed that they are aware of. 911-992 World presentation Nov 2018
