Click and collected it this morning and drove off from the dealership at about 9.15am.
Drove it the long way home, for about 45 miles on wet Cotswold A and B roads.
Even on a dull and wet day, I think it looks lovely.
I'm happy with my choice on the wheels, too.
It feels really nice to drive already. The brake pedal feel is particularly nice.
I think I'll be keeping it a fair while!
Looks like OPC Tewkesbury did they look after you ?Drove it the long way home, for about 45 miles on wet Cotswold A and B roads.

Geoff - yes, Tewkesbury. It's my local OPC and I've been a customer since it opened. Before that I used OPC Swindon, and sometimes Bristol for servicing. All in the same dealership group, of course.
CardiffTam - yes, Gentian. I had a Sapphire Blue GT4 and I have a Le Mans Blue M3. Gentian is quite close to BMW's Le Mans Blue but I agree with your that it has a purplish hue. It's actually closer to Interlagos Blue in BMW's colours I would say.
Anyway - I'm very pleased with it, thanks all for your kind comments.

I've now done 350 miles and loving it! The suspension is now more compliant for some reason. I'm going to 5000 rpm max but I found buried in the owners manual that 4000 rpm is the max for 1875 miles, is that right?
That is almost exactly what is says in the manual. (to be precise the manual says 1,865 miles)However the GTS4.0 cars are being delivered with an out of date manual, it doesn't actually cover the 4.0 6 cylinder models. I noticed that tyre pressures in the manual were different from the pressure on the door sticker for example. There was supposed to be a supplementary manual for the GTS4.0 model but somehow these didn't make it to the UK dealers. My dealer has ordered one for me.
The digital owners manual - The Good To Know app covers the GTS4.0 if you choose the 2021 718 models. This also says 1,865 miles.

This is the colour and wheel/colour I was first going to go for, seeing yours now I wish I had! Looks epic, that side shot is spot on. Congratulations!Drove it the long way home, for about 45 miles on wet Cotswold A and B roads.

She finally arrived!
First impressions: sublime chassis and steering, turn in is superb. Love the proportions of the steering wheel, not too thick like my BMW’s. Standard -20mm suspension is perfect even on bumpy roads around here.
Exhaust sound upto 2000rpm really is good. 2000-4000rpm has valves shut but it still sounds nice, can easily be fixed with a cheap Cargraphic or Soul mod which I may well do at some point. I agree it is very different from 981 but you are unlikely to be disappointed IMO unless you’re coming from a 981 S/GTSwith PSE.
Standard seats could do with going an inch lower or failing that, the steering wheel slightly higher. Im 6ft and the position just feels slighly higher than I’d expect. Minor point.
That manual gearbox is a gem! Such a nice shift, it’s close ratio so one can easily slice through it around town and on b-roads. The benefit of the large displacement engine is there’s plenty of torque on offer from low down. Because I can’t rev it out I’m not going to comment on the gearing but I’m not convinced that I’d prefer PDK after driving this. The PDK redline is 4mph less in 1st and 7mph in 2nd, that’s nothing and the manual just makes it so involving. But depends what you’re using the car for, mine’s a toy.
The main disappointment is the 1800 mile run in period! I’ll report more after than once I can rev it out to 7800.

Glad you are happy, and I’m sure you’ll be even happier as it gets run in. Standard seats could do with going an inch lower or failing that, the steering wheel slightly higher. Im 6ft and the position just feels slighly higher than I’d expect. Minor point.
Out of interest, which seats do you have? Standard 2 way Sports Plus or the 18 ways?

Admittedly, this is for a bog standard no optioned car. But over the term this lease seems a significantly cheaper way of getting behind the wheel of a GTS then the PCP quotes I have seen.

But the cost of ownership is a lot more. A 718 gts 4.0 will not depreciate by £25000 over two years and 10000 miles. £778.78

Beautiful car, and a great colour.
You’ll have to get a drive in one. Only way. I spent hours on YouTube- video doesn’t do cars justice andysavage said:

That's exactly where I'm coming from, and why my feet are getting cold.andysavage said:

The standard ones. Apparently the 18way sit slightly higher. Forget where I read that. This forum perhaps Out of interest, which seats do you have? Standard 2 way Sports Plus or the 18 ways?
