Ion a car in warranty I would always use OPC for routine servicing.

Just my personal preference also it may help in building a positive relationship with them which in turn could be useful....

Accepting that establishing a relationship with a dealer might well have value - I have to say that overall the perception that an OPC service is worth twice an Indie one - or indeed any more (if true) it's a sad reflection on a gullible public. Not that long ago Stella Artois advertised that it was "reasuringly expensive" - I'm glad so say the public wasn't convinced and Stella Artois is now reasuringly cheap. And OPCs are now being forced to charge closer to Indie prices.
Fair point but I'm still happy to use my OPC and pay a small premium for the reason stated. I enjoy a decent loan car, and a few other enjoyable activities i.e. A morning at PEC driving a few 718 Cayman, with the wife...ya pays ya money.......

As I said I pay a small premium for a service every two years. So no big deal. The perks like our recent visit to PEC, many loan cars (I've driven all models, excluding Gt cars) I've had loan cars from 2 hours to 2 days. Add all that together? I pay more but feel I'm getting great value overall. I've been driving Porsche cars since the late eighties and owned many. The cars out of warranty I've taken to my Independent but have always enjoyed loan cars and other perks from my OPC.

All businesses have to cover their overhead and make a profit (we all know that) and I'm happy to contribute, if others aren't that's fine.

Told by my OPC that the CGTS sells for close to list? If they can find one. I've had an unsolicited approach from an OPC by phone, offering £58K (which would be 10k shy of list, though I paid 66K) obviously I wasn't interested.

To me my CGTS is the perfect Porsche car. There will never be another six n/a CGTS and I feel very privileged to own one.

Same here with our BGTS - it might be the tiniest smidgeon less sharp than the Cayman - but have the advantage of that amazing surround sound engine and exhaust roof down!
BGTS is every bit as good as the CGTS imho.

I'm now in my last year of my Porsche warranty. My instinct is to renew for the next two years, which I believe, would be at a discounted rate. However I thought I would pose the question, is there any real gains to be made by a bit of tuning, engine mapping and the like?

You can't renew your warranty and then have the car tuned, as it will invalidate your warranty. Despite what some claim Porsche can detect any such modifications. Up to you of course but I would never think of after market tuning. It's playing an expensive game of Russian roulette should anything go wrong!
Thanks but I realised that thus should I renew my warranty or tune. To be honest now I've seen the costs involved, the fact I don't do track days, it probably doesn't make sense for me.

Still thanks for the info. Has anyone actually tune their GTS?

Let them take them off and then put them back. OPC are aware of mine and they have no effect on my warranty........

The Cayman in any form is a great car. Having come from a line of various 911 models (loved them all) The CGTS is a keeper for me. Where the car goes value wise is an irrelevance to me and boring to most...

Just had a warning showing PADM OPC will sort it but it will be the second dynamic mount failure in 2.5 years and 9k miles!

Anyone else had a problem with these engine mounts?

I've not seen a single CGTS owner here on PH say they'd do that, so if there is one they should speak up!

I won't be swapping mine, only a new GT4 would tempt me to change.
My thoughts exactly, the current CGTS with be a one off and very much sort after as the years pass. The new GT4 is next on my list providing it's a flat 6 with PDK.

I took a 718 manual out the other week which confirmed that PDK was the right choice for me.

I don't care for the GTS interior pack or buckets either. The CGTS is without doubt the best Porsche road car I've ever owned. We are lucky punters 😄
