Re track day season getting close, I suspect a fair few second hand cars will be sold soon and accordingly prices may firm up somewhat.
GT4RS's have already reared their heads on 2024 track days smile There was a lovely one at Bedford earlier this week (along with a GT3 Touring, an old 996 Turbo, and 718 GT4, so Porsche was pretty well represented amoungst the sea of Clios, Civics and Minis)

I am waiting for my PTS 4RS to go into production, i did get offered a first batch car but the mag wheels and PCCB;s were not available so i said id wait, when I spec'd the car, I made sure I have the WP pack and the mag wheels, along with PCCB's

Its all personal really, but i do see a lot of the Car for sale with standard wheels and steels but the Interior WP, this for me if i were looking second hand would be a no no.

Ive gone UV with all the bells and whistles, it has been mentioned there is a current UV car with comfort seats and steels and poor spec thats still 20K over list price!

In terms of WP ... I think it's a liability for many in use.

It's not a Manthey modification that makes a real performance difference ... in terms of practicality, do you really want carbon fibre structural suspension components when in the handbook it says that they should be regularly inspected for any stone chip damage ... for minimal weight savings (and not unsprung) ?

Weissach only became available from the later 991.2 GT3RS which you can clearly see in the specification of the available 2018 and 2019 cars in the market. Not having Weissach didn't lose sales, it simply reduced the value of sales and access to Magnesium wheels (now available in the secondhand market for around £10k if you want them). In fact, at one stage availability of Magnesium wheels was limiting the rate of sale of the Weissach specced cars ... clever marketing adding £25k to the sale price of each car ?

In more recent years Porsche OPC's have been the gatekeepers for access to the GT cars ... and when for some speccing a matching £10k watch was part of the qualifying process, it's not difficult to see why most purchasers were encouraged to top the car up with even more expensive frippery.
Hence at least 95% of GT4RS that I have seen everywhere, have the mainly cosmetic Weissach Pack. This is great if you like bling, but it is making the OPC Approved used cars very expensive by comparison to the list price of the car that many of us would specify.

Is Weissach going to be a future investment ? What percentage of the cost of accessories did we think is retained into the secondhand value ??

In the GT4RS it would appear to me to be rather common ... and prospectively unwanted ?
Well my dealer mate always used to say that useful/desireable extras were worth around 50% of their new cost a couple of years later. Not sure that WP could honestly be really classed as useful. Desireable (for many people) sure, so £10K WP sans cage maybe worth £5K extra second hand - who knows?

Only in the UK , WP and PCCB are essential as mainly an investment market where re-sale is the aim . In Europe the cars are more for using so there WP not that important and about 85% opt for Steel brakes .

The UV car on the market has full buckets, steels would be no issue for me on this car, although I'd prefer it without the bonnet stripe.

I'd expect that deals can be had for all the cars at OPC.

Rather depends on how many are SOR or OPC owned.

Tend to think most owners/OPCs will now sit it out for a few more weeks hoping for a bit of a Spring bounce.

I guess we’ll soon see. Asking prices have been revised down just in the last days to generate movement.
That Pastel Orange car had an offer of 195 when it was up at 204. Didn't accept. Eventually they dropped to 195, no bites and now down to 175 just yesterday. It still c20k over current list for the spec with 3k miles on it.
So I expect the real market price for it is still fair bit lower. But we’ll see if someone bites or if it gets taken off/back only to resurface a little later on down the line.

Another car I like the colour of ... but it would be difficult to fly under the radar in that one !

As for the UV car, a lovely colour but invisible on a dark night ?

At the very best before Christmas a Jun'23 car one owner with 7000 miles on the clock (but supposedly touring miles ?) ... was £5k over list for payment before the year end. It was still £155k but ... it had all the bits other than PCCB's.

I remember the original listing and laughing thinking they're so far off with their pricing, 28K reduction since listing and as you say still way over, the fact that it has a watch no one wants compounds it's appeal against the other 26 for sale.

Unsurprisingly it's notable that the most well priced cars sell, and others seem to be show-room warmers.

Speaking from my experience I wasn’t pressured into WP by my OPC although I went for it as I thought the carbon bits looked good against the GR paint. Other than WP mine was a poverty spec track toy with steel brakes and Al wheels and that is exactly what I wanted and bought it for. Interestingly my old one is still sat at Porsche Stockport where it’s been since I sold it nearly 6 months ago. In that time it’s gone from one of the cheapest available to one of the most expensive. I fear they will be taking a substantial bath on it laugh it does look very expensive and poorly specified against some of the other cars now available. Although to be fair I wouldn’t change anything if I ordered another.

What colour interior did you go for with the GR please?

The free one of coursesmile Although it is a bit busy. However you can’t see the seat insets as you go up eau rouge as fast as possible.

I drove that car before Christmas nice basic spec and pretty good nick overall despite a few marks on the front bumper bonnet and mirrors.

Looks great in Guards red one of my fave colours.

Decidedly overpriced at £175k especially bearing in mind its basic list of just £140428.

Thanks I do try to look after them. It was actually £10K less than that in 2023 as it was a pre price rise car wink but I agree that is academic now. It’s perfect at list IMHO.

Had a Quick Look at the car in Glasgow OPC today - silver does work well against the WP. However I got thinking about spec a bit more and that car doesn’t have Lift which I suspect is a pretty key omission? I actually wonder if Bose works well in the RS or is the car so noisy as to render it a bit irrelevant?

Bose is a unnecessary addition.

Totally this. Its so noisy that even Radio 4 is drowned out at a sensible motorway cruise. One of the few cars where a delete option for the stereo would be a good idea.
Lift works well and is a worthwhile option IMO.

Agree Bose is a total waste in any Porsche GT never mind an RS.

The engine noise is the only music you really need anyway. biggrin:
