Says its only had a wing and a screen...

Surely the insurance complany wouldnt write off a £45k car for a wing and a window????

Is it not the same car that's been on this thread before? It had a missing mirror, damaged door and wing, A-pillar and maybe some rear quarter damage too IIRC. If so, no, it wasn't just a wing and a windscreen. Or should that be "window screen". Whatever they are.

Let’s not kid ourselves, insurance companies write cars off due to the amount of damage the car has suffered.

The cars future value and audience will be affected massively due to a it being a insurance write off.

A wing and a windscreen would not write off a cayman r!

A wing, A Pilar (Structual damage causing the windscreen to crack), cill and door would.

Surely the owner would be better listing photos of the damage suffered, that way people know what they are buying and can offer accordingly.

Yup, that one has been on a few times.

This is the original add with the damage shown in pictures. He wanted £35K without the damage repaired.....

Bit more than a wing & screen then.

Front wheel looks like it has a load of positive camber which would suggest thats had a clump and done some suspension damage. Rear qtr and roof structure had a nice clump too.

Interesting damage, wonder what/how was hit in order to damage it that way?

Looks to me as though the car was stationary when damaged.

Maybe a HGV reversed into it?

Been following this thread for a while after being taken out a run in my neighbours CR - opened my eyes to how competent these cars are.

Anyway, I’ve seen this one, seems reasonably priced although I appreciate the 60k miles is a red flag to most in this thread!

Anyone know the car, any opinions on the spec or mileage?

Wing and a windscreen he says in his new advert!

More like...

Wing
A Pilar
Roof lining
Door
Quarter
Suspension damage

What else is wrong with it if he can’t even write an honest description of the damage it suffered.

IMO It’s not worth close to what he’s asking considering the damage it’s suffered and can now see why the insurance company considered it a loss, makes more sense now you see the damage pictures.

Such a shame as it looked a nice car.

I would imagine if you look hard enough you can buy a honest straight car for 5 or 7 grand more.

I dread to think how many damaged repaired high end cars are out there which are trying to be sold as straight cars.

The history will forever haunt it. Great car ? Cheap way to own an R ? It will be hard to move on later and if not repaired to spec, a potential disappointment.

Given the misleading ad - I'd be very wary of it. The old cliche applies - if it looks too good to be true, then it is too good to be true!

First day out in the little white car yesterday at Bedford GT.

1st observation is what a brilliant car out of the box, so confidence inspiring and also a huge weight off the shoulders not having the GT3 value monkey on my back.

The endless pads are amazing however they're not at all disc friendly so think these drilled items items will be going in the bin soon.

The car stopped all day but that longer pedal is disconcerting so glad thats being addresses.

Balance is spot on but it does push on a bit in some corners so need to address that but could be the Supersports.

Overall impressed but some work to do. However i didnt spin and the lad in this 996 gt3 in the pic did twice! It was beautiful though

Easy to sort the R for geo for fast road, for track you will need a full RSS kit, engine mounts and of course disks.

How is your old car, I might be tempted, does it need work or pretty sorted ?
Pm me if sensitive.

The way I read it, he’s asking about your 6GT3?
