That's my spec. I think chriswren is a more 'enthusiastic' driver than me. I like the performance and looks but need an everyday comfortable drive.

The salesman ticked the boxes - asked which steering wheel I preferred and selected it. I think it would be standard kit anyway

Thanks BGH.
Here mine...

PFB2IMV9

Still not clear if I need the Sound plus to have a nav.
Anyway, not decided yet about the car. GT-R is still a opt.

Almost the same as mine. I haven't gone with buckets as I'm worried they're not low enough. Will be a cracking colour combo in the metal.

Alway better than the sport seats, aren't they?
I'm just scared they are not deep enough in X (longituginal direction), the cuscion seems too short.

Not even the Cayman can complete with a GT-R for pure speed - an awesome machine. Did you look at the new Jag F type too?

Your car looks terrific it rhodium silver with the satin wheels. Shied away from the sports bucket seats, was worried they may be a bit too snug for my lardy butt

IMO the sound pack plus is necessary, the basic radio is fairly rubbish. How long is the waiting time at your dealership?

Here a picture of the boxter in the same colour spec (Cayman's one not found yet)

Yes, those wheels are really terrific.

I know GT-R is many miles beyond the Cayman in terms of performance, but serviceability, insurance, design, quality are not same as Cayman...it is still an opt though.

F-Type? too heavy, design could be better on the front.
It could be worth considering some employees discount.

Given your sporting spec, I have to ask why you didn't go for PTV?

Question is still valid I guess.
Is it an error on configurator? The Sportdesign SW is a standard, isn't it?
It is. If you want an accurate representation in the configurator, you need to be in 3D mode (and a browser than supports the Unity Web Player to use it). Otherwise, what you see in the 2D mode can be very different than what you've configured.

alcantara sports wheel is standard. if you want the leather one you have to select it but at a no cost option smile

That is a brilliant spec! Love it, especially the alcantara buckets.

What made you not opt for the GTS interior?

Nice choice on sports suspension too, dont think im brave enough not to option PASM but love your choices!

Correct - the option is the full leather version

It makes the steering much lighter at low speeds such as parking. From what I have read it also reduces the feel. In effect it is more power assisted than the standard set up
Thanks, don't know about you but I find the standard set up perfectly useable and I parallel park twice a day 5 days a week.

I only ask because the consensus seems to be that the system damages feel/feedback a bit, so you might want to reconsider unless you actually need it.
I think the reported lack of feel is around the electronic steering and the move away from hydraulic steering in the 981 model not specifically of the PSP option, although there will be an additional lack of feel when driving under 31mph in standard drive.

I quite like the idea of completely effortless driving when driving around town and parking but when I'm driving enthusiastically, I will most probably be in Sports Plus mode and driving hard so the mapping will be the same as another GTS.

There is very little information about PSP or a shoot out of cars with/without the option when the different modes are selected or being driven hard and my assumption is that it is just a different map, it is a software change so when above 31mph or in a sports driving mode the map that is selected is exactly the same as a car without the option and therefore the same.

It seems ridiculous that we have to pay for this enhanced PSP steering map but then I guess if takes time to develop and someone needs to pay for the development time and the future updates.

It is also worth mentioning that PSP is progressive, so very light under 10mph and gradually returning to standard map up until 31mp where is would have almost been standard from 20mph+

Hope that makes sense to everyone

depends, take one down the fosse way at 120mph and the GTR cannot stay with a Cayman the road is just to bumpy for such a lard arse car same would go for the F type I bet. you cannot even take the lighter bikes down the Fosse way at those speeds it would throw you off, or the chain.

Audi TT RS
Audi R8 (2nd hand)
Lotus Evora S (New)
Porsche 911 GTS (2nd hand)

gotta love the fosse way!

but completely agree, as a bit of B road it needs a light car, my M235i feels like a wallowy barge down it! (i know it is compared to the cars youve listed but still!)
