Well, it's been quite a morning....

Arrived at Porsche Wolverhampton at 8:15 after a final hours drive in my 997.2, had a great drive over on the twisty route and by arrival...I was having serious second thoughts....yikes

Saw the car and those thoughts started to disappear...it looked fantastic, valeted to a very high standard and just looked so purposeful, even amongst way more expensive metal.

Jason Foster at Porsche has dealt with the purchase all the way and went through all the paperwork with me. A nice surprise was the car already had 18 months left on the OPC Warranty, which he had extended for another 12 months....so 2 1/2 year warranty supplied biggrin

Plus, he made sure the car had a full tank of fuel! That's a first! Top, top man! Would definitely recommend thumbup

As soon as I set off, any fears / worries I had disappeared within about 100 yards. This car just feels soooooo right! Perfect balance of tactility, engine power, gear change, steering, controls.....

It feels like a grown up Exige I suppose and that's about the highest compliment I can give the R.

I may have stumbled across my forever car! *

A few images

Love the rear fixed wing cool

All in all, very, very happy smokin

  • I reserve the right in future to add further cars to this accolade hehe

Thanks for the nice comments thumbup

Having done a fair few miles yesterday, I can honestly say this is one of the most enjoyable / fun machines I’ve had....incl a 458....!

Tech question please......
Cayman R Tyres sizes are 235 35 19 (87Y) and 265 35 19 (94Y)
Has anyone played with the loadings ?
Are 87 and 94Y the standard loadings ?

Im struggling to find the above loadings with online suppliers, Camskill etc.

Any advice is appreciated.

Cheers.

I have CR wheels, I believe these are the minimum loading ratings. My fronts are the same size but 91Y and the rears as above. The tyres are N2 PS2s.

Thanks very much. That ties up with the car I'm looking at.
I can't find any Michelin with these ratings online.
Anyone know if they are in short supply at the moment?

As long as the load rating is higher than 87/94 they're fine...

Green with envy

My m5 e61 broke down again and badly yesterday. Thank goodness for the brilliant insurance policy that BMW do.

Does anything ever go wrong with these Rs?? Unlike the M5 forums there is little talk of problems here. Has anyone had bad experiences and big bills beyond consumables?

I ran Ps4S and while higher loads I just let out 1 or 2 PSI to get the comfort back, worked great.

They are beautiful machines - I sold mine in April to get a Ferrari 430 which hopefully is a long termer. I'd like another Cayman r in the garage with it and a Mk3 Focus RS. That would be me sorted

Only thing my car did not have was buckets - next time a definite as they make the car
