The danger of numbers .... thanks for correcting me !

Yes it certainly can't hurt residuals but this is all relative if your next car is going to be a new one ...

Hopefully this re-balance between supply and demand at list prices might bring a reduction in the "overs" value and encourage some relative normality back to the market.

But many OPC's have "tasted blood" ... and they liked it.

So the 718 GT4 has been on sale for 4 years compared to the 981 GT4s 2. Any Idea of numbers re the 718?
I think the 981 number about 500 in the UK>

957 718 GT4 registered as of end Sept 2022. Extrapolating the average of 67 per quarter over the last two years, estimated total is ~1090 end March. The DVLA only release the full year figures in June or July of the following year.

Edit : You are right - 599 981 gt4 registered with DVLA

Probably end up around 1100 to 1200 718 gt4 Uk cars.

I’m sure it broke the 1000 mark a few months back.

Cracking car for the money.

Agreed. Last and best of the manual gearbox Caymans, still love mine to bits 3 years in.

Yep, for the £80k mine is worth nothing comes remotely to close tempting me sell it to buy something else.

Never in a million years. Too much Ferrari-wannabe in looks and has a mundane Toyota V6 engine. Not to my taste at all.

And possibly no longer meeting Porsche's profit criteria .... especially if they can switch people down to the GTS with more options or up to the GT4RS / GT3 ?

I’m not sure, it sits in a sweet spot price wise. By the time production ends they would have sold 2000 plus gt4 cars in the uk alone making them good profit.

They certainly do.

Halfway between a Cayman GTS and GT4.

Great drop dead looking usable sports car at the money.

I don't know about "2000 plus", that sounds a bit high. I reckon it'll end up around 1500-ish.

Build quality is a question mark though isn't it, plus I'm personally not interested in anything "softer" than a GT4. I'd go more extreme than more comfortable.

Oof.

And even with lots of boxes ticked they missed the leather dash?

Blimey.

Don't think build quality is actually an issue any more T now with Geeley at the helm...... unlike Lotus of old. Spent a day recently driving an Emira and was most impressed with the car overall no squeaks rattles etc very usable most engaging package overall and looking forward to mine arriving in June.

We know there are around 600 to 700 981 gt4 in the Uk and around we believe 1200 718 gt4 for the Uk. 2000 plus may be a little high, but my guess is it will definitely be closer to 2000 than 1500.

The numbers show it has been a big success for Porsche and clearly makes them good profit globally.

Either way both are great cars and represent excellent value for money and are ideal for those who can’t get into a 911 gt3 or 718 gt4 rs.

Be interesting to see what the next generation of gt4 is like.
