Cmoose is bang on here IMO..In terms of the Manual gearbox i'd guess they'll use a new GT developed one which will be more robust than the old GT4's.I live in hope that if this turns out to be the case then i'll wager they'll lower both second and third gears a touch and leave the other gears alone. However this might just be my wishful thinking..

I very much doubt it'll rev to 8450rpm..If it does then i think it'll have the 3.8 rather than the 4L and use revs to get power rather than cubic capacity.
I'm telling you guys that both the new GT4 and Spyder are going to blow you away with their sheer brilliance..Porsche are really on top of their game right now, coupled with the extraordinary length of time(especially Ring time) they've taken to develop them can only mean perfection IMO.
Be nice but the last GT4 had big errors , the Spyder, well just lacking everywhere imo.

The 991.2 manual GT3 is king, I feel lucky to have one, but I would rather a Cayman RS as I like mid engine cars better.

If it’s that good I,ll sell my GT3 as I really still want a 410sport Exige, and that would partner well with the new GT4, but the GT4 spec needs to blow me away.

I,ll still ask for a GT4 as I would just daily it to death this time esp if it has PDK.

I have other plans for Pork atm which is under wraps.

I always said the 981 GT4 was a flawed package.

Agree on the 991.2 GT3 'manuel' being king btw.

As for the new GT4 it will be interesting to see if it's PDK or PDK S. Normal PDK would be a no no for me and PDK S will probably be an overly expensive option at the cars price point in which case 'manuel' gearbox wins.

Anyway, thought you hated autos?

The 8450rpm is from Rennlist, someone using the track Precision App I think. It seems to be incorrect and bears no relation to the actual upcoming GT4.
Don't think there is any reason to doubt it. Why would it be wrong? Information leaking all over the place ahead of reveal and they would never let the detuned 4.0 rev to 9000.

I think it's wrong because it's too high. The GT4 won't rev that far over 8k IMHO.

Well, the redline is still correct. Anyone who has used the app knows that it is laggy and has a tendency to jump to maximum inputs (especially if no external GPS is used).

I guess we will see soon enough.

I do hate auto's but I own 4 manuals and had to buy an auto due to a knee issue which just gets worst. For a daily hack PDK is a move I have had to do.

PDK will work well in the new GT4 as I cannot see it having short ratios in manual form.
So a manual is a no go if it’s the same box, the gearing sapped the life out the car.

Also, the thread title gets even more hilarious as each month passes.
I would love the irony for this thread to be locked right before the reveal.

Can anyone confirm if the exhaust configuration on the mules (two larger pipes spaced apart) is what the production cars will have?

Personally prefer the old cars smaller pipes placed together look.

It'll have the spaced apart pipes, same as all the mules and the Clubsport race car.

Shame, I don’t really like this configuration either, definitely how it’ll be though

I saw a US spec car come of the factory production line like this (Boxster not Cayman) it didn't look good.

Waliser told me that the Spyder is much more a soft top GT4 this time around.

Make of that what you will.
