Got a qt from Marsh today £316 .. 6K per annum £430 excess + euro cover 2 track days with 10% car value as excess £75 windscreen .12 years protected NCD . underwritten by Aviva also contacted Aviva £275 excess £500 + £150 voluntary + £275 Excess to take to a body shop of your choice in the event of a accident or use one appointed by them at no excess .
PS I am a senior so age helps in this quote.

Manning 5K per annum £250 excess 2 rack days + 10% of value cost with 3k miles £694 5 k miles £861 .

So pays to shop around
not sure I have called the right number for Marsh ? guy I spoke to said he was from Porsche insurance no mention of Marsh when he introduced himself ? cover details seemed same as yours though 2 trackdays £430 excess . Porsche parts blah blah no tracker, £70k value mileage at 5k per year , 45 year old no previous motoring claims in 29 years but my quote came back at £1000 and thats giving me 2 years introductory discount redface

Website was a bit sketchy to get contact number so I called the Leeds office as they the most local to me but they put me through to another dept in London ? https://www.marsh.com/uk/contact-us/office-locator...
Porsche insurance administered by March. Contact details: 0345 600 6502, email Porsche.insurance@marsh.com, 4th floor, Churchill House, 17 Churchill Way Cardiff CF10 2HH. My quote was £405.31,£430 excess, 12,000 miles, £66070 value, 9 years NCD, 3 points in 2011, wife, garaged, based in East Kilbride, age 55
Note you should also get your full NCD all you have to do is provide proof from your last insurer. This should make a difference. Phone back and speak to someone else. The guy is at it (surprisingly from my past experience)

Sorry to bore you all about colour AGAIN. But having a nightmare deciding between Agate Grey & White. I know only I can decide. I look at Agate Grey & think yeah looks very smart & classy, especially with the platinum wheels; but will it look dull also? I noticed in all the Porsche publicity stuff for the Spyder they chose White. Both work for me. A local garage to me has an Agate Grey 981 Boxster S - will pop down to see if it impresses.
Try seeing Agate in direct sun, the brown hue put me off otherwise it would have been my first choice on the GT4.

I think Agate looks great on a 911. A friend has a 991 GTS in Agate & must admit it does look stunning. But it's something about the shape of the Boxster - may be loosing the roof that changes how it looks in Agate.

aye tis a strange one as swmbo has 3 points on her licence for speeding so even declaring that it still reduced the premium. did the same when added her to my sons insurance policy. confused
Odder still is the fact that it seems to often be the case that is cheaper to keep a car on the drive than in the garage. Bizarre.

Here is white once again.

Many/most of the Porsche publicity shots were CWM, which looks a bit milky for my taste.

Can't argue with that lovely shot - looks superb. Is yours solid white? How does it differ from CWM?

+1

I had short listed Agate and then looked at a Boxster, in the sun, and the brown tinge was not for me. Go for GR and satin wheels.

Yes, that's mine and is solid White.

Take a look at the Porsche launch pictures and you will spot the difference easily between this and CWM.

Everyone will have their own preference of course, but I think the starker, purer look of solid/plain White looks sharper, more sporty and more striking, while CWM looks more sophisticated/classy. The former ought to be easier to touch in and match, I imagine.

Here is mine again.

Thanks. Does look good. Actually also like the silver wheels.

thanks for that, its same place when I checked the number he called me back on was a Cardiff code so just under a grand , I have just called up LV and on this policy they quoted strangely they dont want a tracker (they do to keep it on my trade insurance with them!) and will also recognise my no claims bonus so took insurance with them, 5k per year, 70-90k value, myself and mrs C came back at £363. I was keener to go with LV as I know from first hand experience in the event of having a claim they are hassle free and dont try and wiggle out !!

happy days just need the sun now biggrin

Has to be white (pure white). Agate looks OK in some pics but I'd never actually choose it.

I'am pretty sure if I chose white it will look great. There seems to be more risk associated with choosing Agate Grey. I still think Agate Grey on the 911 looks great; but perhaps with the different shape of the Spyder it does look different. So I'am back in the white camp.

For you what made you decide on solid white as opposed to CWM?

I have both whites sat at my house, I will try and get a picture over the weekend parked side by side so you can see the difference in the same light, the CWM looks good when its clean but not so when its gets dirty, the CWM looks brighter and lighter but given the choice I would have preferred non metallic white. oh and its also easier to touch up and match the colour if it ever needs paintwork !

In isolation they both look like white!

When sat next to each other Pure White is a brighter white. I'd generally prefer a non-metallic finish on this car - in the same way that I'd prefer it on a GT Porsche. Plus, you'll save £500.

The way I summed the two whites up was if you are the kind of person that when picking LED bulbs for your home goes for ice white colour that has that really bright blue hue to it, then go CWM. If you perfect something more subtle with a cleaner colour that doesn't distract, then solid white. I'd pick solid white FYI.

These are the differences the way I see it:
