Whilst the cash route is the cheapest I prefer using finance wherever I can. OPC finance is steep, albeit not as steep as others, and almost made me reconsider my purchase. Clydesdale Bank offer 4%APR (3.75% flat) for private banking customers. Similarly, Halifax offered me 3.6%APR on a PCP, although they only go up to £60k loan. Ultimately, I try to leave as much capital as I can in my company and use this to expand, essentially offsetting PCP interest rates against company growth. In short, cash purchases are a rich mans luxury
I don't want massively less for residuals, however, I do want to set it appropriately so I max the amount of equity I pull out. It also means I pay slightly less interest. Rightfully as you've mentioned I could be offered a lower trade in value and thus OPC eat away at any equity I've accumulated. At this point if my OPC take the piss with their trade in offer I'll have to shop around or just pay the finance off allowing me to negotiate prices from a stronger position.
Ps. I've created a PCP Calculator, gets fairly close to actual figures. Anyone can use if comparing deals etc. My PCP Cal

Is the dealer contribution taken twice, just looking on a phone sized screen so can't follow maths easilyI don't want massively less for residuals, however, I do want to set it appropriately so I max the amount of equity I pull out. You referring to the £2000? If so, no. That figure was the total sum of the discount offered. Its an arbitrary figure left in whilst i was messing with the numbers. The dealer contribution bit is can be edited to include their deposit contribution (if any). However, if they do give you deposit contribution you can add that to your own total deposit.
Personally, just ignore current numbers in there as they're best case scenarios.

Any sign of any deliveries yet?
I had an email this morning asking me to set up the Connect services account and when I did this led me to an order page for the 2 year free period which specified my car's VIN. So I know it has been built but I'm not sure where it is. I'm expecting a call back from the dealer.

Just had the call - it's arrived and one of the technicians is working late this evening to complete the PDI so that I can pick it up early AM. Is there any point in going to bed tonight ??
That is such a great feeling - although it never makes for the best mental state when trying to fall asleep! I always revert back to being like a kid on Christmas Eve the night before collecting a car I really am excited for.Congrats!

If I were you I'd make my way to the OPC now and set yourself up outside with a camping stool, a flask of coffee and a blanket so you can be first through the door when they open tomorrow.nxm said:

Already there and its bloody freezing. On first name terms with the security guard now - I think there's a future for us together !!! I've just put down my holding deposit on a Cayman GTS; hoping for an April/May delivery and already can't wait! Still can't make my mind up on colour though, I was pretty set on GT Silver but looking at some of the pictures floating around I'm tempted by Carrara White (the boxster a couple of posts up looks great!) or Sapphire Blue.... Decisions, decisions..

I had White ( not Carrara White Metallic ) for my previous 981S ....... had to get a White Porsche ' out of my system ' ... as it were . But now going for the Sapphire Blue Metallic .Colour choice is of course ' personal ' and can be ' fashionable ' ....and some colours look better for the Cayman rather than the Boxster .
Still ............ The Choice is yours ..... as the say .
