Obviously, I don’t have an extensive list of cars behind me, but I’m only 20 and so have only been driving for 3.5 years. I haven’t had enough time yet to build up a nice portfolio rolleyes

Hoping my next step is a 718 GTS.
First thing that came to mind is how much your insurance is if you don't mind me asking.

Here’s my list going back 20yrs or so, some right stinkers...

Austin Metro
Ford Fiesta (XR2 Replica)
Citroen AX GT
Ford Escort (RS2000 Replica)
Suzuki Vitara Fatboy
MGF VVTI
Audi TT 225 Roadster
Mini GTT 220
Jaguar X-Type Sport
Nissan Cube’s (had a bit of fun importing)

1977 Lada 1300S - learned to drive in it aged 10, still behind the Iron Curtain
1990 Golf Mk2 GTI 8v

1984 Porsche 928 S2 Auto
1990 Porsche 928 GT
1984 Porsche 928 S2 5-spd
1990 BMW E30 320iS Coupe
1989 VW Golf 2 GTI 16v
2006 BMW Z4MCoupe
1998 BMW E39 540i Touring
2007 BMW E61 M5 Touring
1993 Porsche 928 GTS 5-spd

2001 Porsche 996 GT3 Club Sport
1989 Porsche 928 S4 5-spd
2003 BMW M3 SMG
2005 BMW X5 4.8iS

so currently the fleet has been whittled down to:

Porsche 928 GTS 5-spd - factory fresh restoration
Porsche 928 S4 5spd - factory fresh restoration
Porsche 996 GT3 CS - 32k miles Nurburgring/Spa/Le Mans track slag
Porsche 928 GTR - CSCC race car
Porsche 944 Turbo Cup - RCN race car
BMW E46 M3 - MTB transport/Evo Triangle blaster
BMW X5 4.8iS - ski transporter/school bus/towing vehicle

Where next in the Porsche world?

Fancy building myself a 964 based lightweight and a 928 lightweight with an early non-spoiler body and GTS engine/5-spd manual box

Under 2k, surprisingly! I think it’s because (1) I’m a female so I avoid the young boy-racer stereotype, (2) my postcode (small town) isn’t high risk, and (3) I doubt insurance companies have many claims of 20 years old crashing new Porsches, therefore making the car statistically less risk. Happy days!

That's great because I'm 26 and getting quoted just over £2k! However, I am male and live in London which probably doesn't help..

My list:

2009: BMW Mini Cooper 1.6
2016: BMW 420d
2018: 718 Cayman (hasn't arrived yet.. frown )

50th Birthday this year....on the hunt for a new toy, Gallardo Superleggera, Porsche GT4 are currently top of the list. Need to build another garage first hehe

I dread to add up what my passion has cost over the years, but not lost money on a sports car since 2010 (apart from the daily drivers of course), feel very lucky to have had such wonderful machines and memories over the course of my life biggrin

It's a disease I tell ya! hehe

Having to think a bit now...

Talbot Alpine 1.6LS
Polo 1.3 C Formel E
Rover 214 SLi
Rover 218 SLDT
Rover 216 GTi
Citroen BX 1.9 D - Utterly dreadful in everyway, worst car in history (apart from the 2CV)
Daihatsu Fourtrak 2.8 TD
Rover 420 GSi
Rover 220 Coupe Turbo
Ford Sierra 1.6 LX
MK Indy kitcar (Honda Blackbird engine) - Still in the garage
Ford Mondeo 1.8 TD Ghia
Rover 220 SLi
Ford Mondeo 2.0 TD
Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi Elegance
BMW 316 iS
BMW 328i Coupe - weekend toy, cracking chassis

Skoda Octavia VRS Diesel - Current workhorse
BMW E46 M3 - current weekend/track toy / Alpine tripper / Nurburgring beast

Cayman R - currently hunting for, still elusive!
7.2 GTS - probable successor to an R, 991s don't do anything for me.
7.2 GT3 - One day...

Some questionable decisions there, but at the time on a fairly low income, they seemed reasonable at the time. Lots of diesels but 20-30k miles a year meant economy was a requirement.
