So I've had 1 month and 500 miles of fun in my GT4 which should've been with me since March! I changed over from the F4T GTS and in comparison the GT4 feels underpowered, does anyone else have the same criticism? I personally feel the car needs a bit more umph lower down in the rev range to punch it out the corners. Just my 2p

I 100% agree.

I’ve come from a 718 GTS too.

While I’m very grateful to have a GT4... I am extremely disappointed with it. It feels incredibly slow off the line, and it sounds so dull.

The car does feel great when you have it up passed 6,000 RPM, but with it’s long gearing you don’t get to really experience that much.

The 718 GTS is turbo charged and with a PDK so it is faster off the line... but I thought getting back in a NA engine, the sound would make up for the lack of punch off the line... however the GT4 doesn’t launch much greater than the Flat 4 718 GTS.

I drove a F4T 2.5 Boxster GTS a month or so ago and it was one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. More umph than my 981 GT4 ever had or my 981 Spyder has. Underrated car IMHO, with people perhaps getting too hung up on the engine sound.

Agreed, tbh I wasn't expecting it to be like the F4T or even as fast to 60mph. Peak torque is too high up the rev range for me and the only way to enjoy it is when the speedo is nearing triple digits.

I've got PEC on Saturday so will see if a track scenario makes me appreciate the car in a different light.

ECU remap on the old F4T will make GT4s look silly on track I think. My GT4 is a keeper nevertheless.

I never understood the hate for the 2.5gts . If i was looking for a boxster i would be looking for this car.
When comparing all these boxsters and caymans, pound for pound probably the best.

Me too - brilliant car with a couple of simple mods : JCR Titanium trace pipe, plus RPM have just fitted some RSS toe links to mine and they then set it up with a fast road geo - I would highly recommend both of these - difference per £ spent on the RSS is really worth it IMHO.

With these two mods it’s transformed the car - it’s epic - so happy with it smile

What geo settings have you ended up with?

My GT4 is on rails after tweaking my geo and my exhaust should be getting fitted in early September driving

Not sure of the specifics and wouldn't understand it even if I did know - just asked for "spirited road" set up - it really did the trick relative to my old car that was on an OEM set up; joking apart for them to do this they had to put on longer adjustable rear toe links and a new locking plate as the OEM ones weren't long enough to safely do the camber adjustment that they wanted.

Interesting you've finally succumbed to the exhaust mod - which one have you gone for ?

Cheers smile

Has anyone managed to get an idea of when the JCR OPF delete becomes available?

I met him in the Mercedes garage for the 2018 British GP. Couldn't place him at all but swore I recognised him, ended up asking if we knew each other laugh "Oh I do car reviews". Ah yes! Seemed a nice enough guy. Carwow certainly gets around, they review bloody everything!

Did you not get a geo printout when it was done? That has all the settings on it if you did smile

I'm having an inconel replacement final silencer, along similar lines to the JCR solution by all accounts, which is coming from Ninemeister. They're developing their own system, including GPF delete pipes too for those who want them smile

Very interested to hear this once you get it on - what timescale have they given you?
