Re the Zunsport grills. I called Zunsport today and arranged for them to fit their grills to my CGTS for £35 + VAT.
Plus I get a 330 odd mile drive so a win win ;-))
If they let me I'll see if I can do a video....

Hi guys. I want to know what the best set up is for maximum traction whilst maintaining sportiness for the PDK. Would it be sport mode off with manual shift, or sport mode on with PDK on auto? Does sport mode turn a bit of the traction control off?
Reason I ask, I normally drive around in sport mode but have noticed the tail is quite happy at times (especially in the wet!)

I'll bet the car is running P-Zero's? They are an awful tyre in the wet / cold or combination of both but they are OK when it's a bit warmer. My personal preference is to use Sports Plus and have the PDK in manual as the Sports plus allows for a bit more slip before the TC stops all the fun. Indeed, I have the P Zeros. On dry they are great but I lose confidence with them when wet, hence why I end up keeping everything off but with PDK in manual. Have to agree with the P Zero's being awful in the combination of wet and cold, there's a good thread elsewhere about tyres and the 'N' rating, the Michelin PSS are not currently rated for the Cayman GTS, but are for the 981 Cayman apparently.. Whatever, they will be going on my car asap.
Re the Zunsport, recently I fitted a set (just the difficult outer lower front grill) to Dean's GTS as he's limited to due a lack of an arm, and if you don't follow the instructions they go straight on in about 30 seconds. -Fit the off centre clip first to the lower edge, hook the inner long hook into the trim edge, twist and bend the grill into position against the fixed clip, reach in from above and press home the clip which sandwiches the lower tab to the lip of the trim.
Yesterday a friend (09 GTR) and I did a Gold Track day at Spa, the circuit was packed with loads of GT3 RS's, GT4's, 3 cup cars, couple of McLaren's a few Radicals and plenty of other exotic machinery. We had a great time and the little GTS gave an amazing account of itself, the driver less so! My friend was really surprised how quick the GTS was and for the first time on a track the brakes were as brilliant after 6 laps as they were on the first.
I'd really recommend Gold Track, 99% of the other cars behaved impeccably and didn't intimidate, Callum Lockie really helped me start to learn and enjoy the circuit, especially how to get through Eau Rouge at a reasonable speed. Felt epic, looked pedestrian I'm sure.
There was lots of large lumps of rubber flying around from all the slicks, witnessed by the thunks and black marks all over the car, but the grills stayed in place and meant there was no worries about damage to those bloody exposed rads.
And the car stayed shiny all weekend with the G Technic applied from new. It was definitely the fastest (yellow) Porsche all day. haha.

My GT4 front bumper mesh, centre supporting frame and clips have all turned up. I just need a car now, last I heard some weeks ago was that it was meant to come out of production this week. Still a couple of months away though.
How much were they in comparison to the non Porshe items? Much more costly?ellroy said:

Very. A rip off really, so far the 3 mesh, the black centre frame which goes behind the centre mesh with the vertical bars in it, plus 38(?) clips to hold it all in place has cost me somewhere between 400-450gbp. But I do prefer the OEM look, and it is only money.1700 miles & just starting to rev it a bit, Jesus....I've run in more new engines than I care to remember including plenty of highly strung race engines, needless to as soon as mine was fully warmed through it was loaded progressively up over the course of 200 miles right the way round the dial.
