1700 miles & just starting to rev it a bit, Jesus....I've run in more new engines than I care to remember including plenty of highly strung race engines, needless to as soon as mine was fully warmed through it was loaded progressively up over the course of 200 miles right the way round the dial.
eek We all have different ideas on running in - all would agree taking it fairly easy until oil temp is up over 70 deg C, I drove mine 200 easy driving no hard work but using all gears as much as possible, 200 to 1200 miles steadily allowed revs to increase to around 5000 but never using full throttle, now between 1200 and 2000 miles slowly extending that with a few short bursts of full throttle, have allowed revs to reach 6000 now too and by 2000 miles anything goes - after fully warmed up of course! smile No matter how good an engine is I prefer to be cautious with cars I intend keeping many years (my BGTS is such a car), if I was never planning on keeping more than three or four years I may well adopt your method smile

Finally got mine last week...and CRASHED her on the way home...but it's ok, it was just the PCM OS that crashed and it rebooted after a bit of worried prodding at the screen :P. Seems my stupid iPod hung and took the whole communications system down. Once I rebooted the iPod as well everything seems to work again.

Now I've put a couple of hundred miles on her.

Not much to say than I'm loving it a lot. It does feel a bit sharper that the 981 Boxster S it replaces, and the interior trim is way way better, being I did go for a leather dash or special trims in the old car. I have the red stitching on this one.

Moved to PDK from manual. For the moment I'm very happy with it, being my own heel/toe technique was worse than terrible. I might miss it on some weekend drives I guess, but so far I've been enjoying manual mode a lot in the GTS...flipping to fully auto when in town in traffic.

And the sound...OMG...the sound...I though the 981S sounded good, even with out having PSE on it.

I went for Carmine, and I'm loving that colour. I had guards on the old one, which I loved, but I gravitate to the darker reds. Carmine is a very strange paint, it seems to go from a strong red, almost Guards red, when in bright light. But as the light becomes more subdued, it seems to reflect more blue, and starts drifting off towards maroon. It doesn't seem to photograph well either.

Anyway it is everything I was expecting, and more. Really really pleased with her.

Not taken any shots of her in the wild yet so here is a quick iPhone hit in the showroom, I'll probably get some at some point, all I wanted to do was drive...drive...drive wink

It's arrived an amazing car with a sweet 6 Cylinder Engine!
It's Carmine Red...in strong sunlight goes lighter and for some reason the colour does not photograph well, in low light
it returns to the darker colour it is.

Putting on my terrible amateur photographer hat here..

Strong sunlight there and the camera would have adjusted for that, giving a warmer image. Thus the red would be "hotter" than normal. As the colour temperature cools, the colour will get darker as the red gets less prominent and more blues come through.

Lovely car, Carmine red is the best colour for GTS models.

Before going abroad last week I took my CGTS to Cambridge OPC to ask to check the software to be able to change the headlights (std. PDLS) as the facility via the computer stalk doesn't show the option.

They had the car in and told me that it is not possible and the car does not need it changing for driving on the right. Hmmm

On the tunnel on the way back I had a dig around in the options via the main screen, under car and options exterior lights there it was! Just in case anyone wishes to do so. Poor from Cambridge though.

There is also what seems to be a function to set a lap circuit which then you store times for subsequent via GPS. Glad I didn't discover this or I'd have known how slow I am.

The facility to switch the lights from RHD to LHD was actually missing on my car on delivery and my OPC (Swindon) had to alter the factory set up away from standard programming to enable it! I have PDLS+ but the facility to switch the beam over should be on both.

I was told when I picked it up, that the smoked lights have a different "coding" to the silver. And need a laptop plugged in to update by the dealer. Some dealers might code them this way from the outset. I'll need to go back and get it added..

Have you had a look to see if the option is available through the main screen Wivelrod?

Meant to check on the way home tonight. But they did show me it was missing. I was too goggled eyed with the rest of the motor to notice, but I think we were on the same screen the "light me home" time adjustment is made. I can't remember exactly from the boxter which screen it was either...I used it on a road trip on that car.

Will double check in the morning..if I remember :P

Just reduced my gts in the for sale section to £50850 for a quick sake should anyone be looking for a manual, with buckets etc. Very nice spec and has to be a bargain at this money
I presume this is it. A great spec, GLWS:

Picking up my CGTS on Thursday. Very excited! however I had one nasty surprise yesterday... I received the final invoice to settle, and I thought I would check to make sure everything was correct. However I noticed that my dealership has made a mistake and didn't include cruise control, even though its clearly on final build sheet! Had a nervous few hours of calls, and thankfully they can fit cruise control at the dealership. Still, somewhat scary that such a major mistake not building the correct spec managed to happen. I am just glad it was something that can be fitted later, and not something like PCM!!

Simple, you would reject the car if major. Your contract was for the car you ordered, not what they delivered. Good luck with it though.

I collected my CGTS on Sunday from Porsche Sheffield who have been great throughout the entire order and delivery experience.

I took Monday off to ‘Bond’, spending a few hours driving round Derbyshire. What a fabulous car, I’m a very happy bunny smile

Definitely not there. Just have the timer for the lights to go off and an option for dynamic high beams only.

Picked up yesterday from Swindon. Not a good day for picking up a new motor but that didn't take the shine off the day.

That's lovely!

On a side note has anyone thinking or traded up to a 991.2, if so how are you finding it?
