I have never personally lost money on any of my own cars in 30 years of driving
That is a bold statement .. Have only ever made a profit on about 4 cars purchased and I have had over 120 in 53 years of driving .I am a salesman's best pal smile
I have had a few Porsches over the years and only made anything on 2 of them and ahead of the game with the current 987 Spyder
think I need to supply you with a few hehe

to date I have had just under 3,000 cars through my hands and can count on my fingers how many I have had to blow money on hence I hate it when I have too lol .

Can I be your pal as wellbow, I recon I've blown £100k on Porsches over the last eight years. The only one I broke even on was a Macan. If I decide to sell the Spyder then hopefully it would be the second on the positive side. However at present I want to keep.

A company I have been doing a bit with recently have amazed me what they loose on motors , I bought a Range Rover off them last month, they had owned it 7 months and lost £28,000 and they had another 12 heavy money cars all financed with minimum deposits over 5 years , I tried to educate them but they seem to enjoy looking flash, having an image has to be crippling them financially .

I take it that there is nothing much happening in Spyder world.

I've read through two pages of list of Surrey towns(you've missed Guildford and my old 987 Spyder went to Woking on a few occasions) and two people debating if £90K is too much for a Spyder - what the market will bear.

Oh and the last lot of pictures are of a 911! Heresy!

To the best of my knowledge at least three people have recently taken delivery of their Spyders. Where are the photos? And we don't want to hear any of that 'well I've been driving it, man' rubbish. Photos!

Here's mine (again) on collection last Saturday. Since Sunday evening its been tucked up under its cover. (Don't ask why the photo is sideways on - it was OK before I uploaded it!).

Thank You

Mine's built and currently somewhere between Germany and Britain - Closer to Germany I suspect but delivery day creeps ever closer.

When the picture has been taken at the OPC does anyone else play 'Guess the Dealer'? For example I bet 1606ian's Spyder was at Leicester OPC (my local). I think I may be cheating a little 'cus' someone did say they had just picked their car up from there.

Think mine must be hitching a ride with yours.
Fingers crossed for delivery next Friday, would be amazing to have in time for Easter weekend.
It'll be pretty much exactly a year since ordering..

Dead right, although I did mention it when I posted the original photo last Saturday!

I have had a deposit sitting with my local Porsche dealer since 1st December. I was 5th in line with the 4 in front of me allocated cars. I spoke with the dealer yesterday and he advised that the other owners are starting to take delivery of their cars and he will refund my deposit unless there is an announcement around extra allocations.

I am therefore not holding out much hope about getting a car. Is anyone else in the same boat? What is the view around extra allocations being given to UK dealers?

Never say never, I would keep my deposit in a little bit longer but I would be surprised if they introduce another allocation this late in the game.

I received an invite to the 718 launch at my OPC today.

FWIW I do think the final tally will be higher than initially thought. There are 3 at my OPC right now, including mine.

I made my usual enquiry to all 34 dealers today. Responses were very mixed, no suggestion of a car, but some said all gone and production already finished (not true), some said all gone sorry but we may get another batch, and others tried selling me their flipped cars, so you never know I guess. I suspect it is too late now though.

I received one last week from PC Hatfield where I bought my last car. Unfortunately it would be a 300+ miles round trip for me so I won't be going. Could do with an invite from Leeds of Sheffield (both of which I use for service and parts) as they are the nearest to home.

Thanks both. You are confirming what I suspected. I think I will give it to the end of the month and then pull the deposit.
